Even though the Michael Johns,Carly Smithson and even the Melinda Doolittle's of this world have great voices and are polished performers IMHO these type of contestants could be the downfall of this show. All have spent many years very much on the inside of the music industry but they never achieved much successs because they are boring and uninspiring and that translate into huge levels of indifference among the majority of fans.

I would rather see the producers take chances on less polished contestants with untapped potential instead of Industry plants even in the end you get a trainwreck like John Stephens or Camille Velasco which at least it was always more entertaining .
