And the Q: Are the drivers really assholes, or do the asshole Racers drive them to assholery?

Or did they drive there on their own?? Because I'm sure the cabbie probably knew what was going on and was having a bit of a laugh about it.

And all of the ones in Shanghai (same season) that refused to pick up any of the teams, particularly the one that caused Kris and Jon to finally lose a bit of their cool, when Jon threw the money in the dude's face. Oh! And didn't Linda and Karen have a run in with one that they followed with no intention of paying in Dubai?

I remember Colin/Christie from S5 didn't pay the taxi driver for $50. The local said to him that he would go to jail to accusing the taxi driver to pay $50. But he would pay $100 for the taxi driver. After that, one of the blondes in the cab was getting worried that he might not stick to his words but the other was quite confident. Then when they reached the train station in Ouagadougou, they passed the guy a 2000-note and asked for change but the guy refused to give it to them. And he WAS smiling after they gave in to his "scheme".

Shana was worried they would get screwed but Jen was indeed confident. They only got 1000 back and the guy refused to give it to them. Granted, when you say shit like "We're going to be sold today.", then I feel a little less bad. Not nearly as bad as the breeding speech, but still Ugly American-ish.
