Yeah, except they love their children and each other.
I hope they do take over J+K's glory. They seem more genuine and loving, even more than J+K seemed in their first episodes. Plus I want to see Meghan haul off and hit the boy that was bugging her. |

Havent watched this, but genuine and loving? That sounds boring as hell.
I want my reality tv familes either loving but super creepy (Duggars) or very real families with trainwreck qualities like most real families have (Gosselins) Genuine and loving dont make a good TV show. |

I watched the first two episodes of this last night. I certainly liked the parents more than Jon & Kate.
How long until they start getting major freebies? Last night they just went to the aquarium and ate Ragu (who sponsors the show) so far all they get is free pasta sauce. |

I find the parents entertaining even if they don't fight like Jon & Kate, and it was kind of funny when they got pulled over. I haven't really
latched on to any of the kids' personalities yet, but I think it's funny how one them plays trombone while he unicycles.

I thought there was another thread for this? I love this family so much more than J&K.

I cannot see this becoming a hit at all.
Parents seem to level-headed to make the show more of a priority than their kids. Mix that in with the fact that the father actually has a career that keeps him from being home all the time. And I am sure that he is not going to give up his job to make this show the main income they have since there are some great benefits that come with being a police officer and with a child with medical issues I cannot see them risk it. I did love when the wife mentioned she is never in the back of the car and he made a cute comment about oh you have been in the back and then she said it was fast and bumpy in the back and they went hysterical laughing. They are a cute family and need to stay that way. Runnnnnnnnnnnn! |

I watched their first special a few months ago and thought it was OK, but couldn't get into last night's show. It will only be a matter of time before some start to find something to dislike about this family - that is if the show survives more than one season. Even J&K8 had a couple of specials and a season and a half honeymoon before viewers started to turn on them. |

So the new low bar for getting your own television show is breeding too much?

suckshardcore wrote:Yes, each set are the results of IUI treatments for infertility. They did the 3rd round to try for another daughter because heaven forbid that there be only one girl out of 4 kids. In this day and age you'd think most people would be more then happy to have 4 healthy children and not tempt fate. Never watched the show but a blurb about the family was on some site where they asked the parents some questions. Apparently the sextuplet, Rebecca, "took one for the team" by having CP. That remark kind of irked me. I'm sure while in the uterus she asked God to give her CP and spare her 5 womb-mates from any complications related to the sextuplet pregnancy. ETA. I guess the show with the Mashe Miracles on WE or is it Oxygen must be a bomb as I've never seen it mentioned other then the media announcement that it was a go. Though I did hear from a co-worker who caught part of an episode that the parents are pretty whiny about having to work or stay home caring for the kids. Oh, and the mom not only got her belly fixed but breast implants at the same time. I bet if Kate heard about that she went green eyed with envy since her freebie plastic surgery got denied new, improved boobs.

dottstar wrote:The "took one for the team" thing doesn't other me because if you watch the show you realize that that is their type of humor. The kids o n this show seem like some of the most well adjusted kids. They don't treat each other like crap but they are able to joke with each other and have fun with it. The older kids get along with each other and the younger kids, and they all seem to be totally comfortable with trying to include Rebecca as much as possible. And unlike Kate the mother (Betty), while strict when she needs to be, doesn't jump all over her kids for dumb shit, she lets them be kids and individuals (who knew four year olds didnt have to dress alike). There was a part on one of the episodes tonight where they were talking about Rebecca and how they wish she could communicate, and it wasn't because they wanted her to be normal like the rest. it was because they wanted her to be able to tell them the little things like if she had an itch. I almost cried when she said she cant wait to get to heaven, so that when Rebecca does go up to meet her she would be whole again and they could talk and do things together. dissertation over, as you can see I sort of love this family. |

I caught a couple of episodes of this the other day and really, these people are leaps and bounds ahead of the Gosselins. For starters, they are adults who act
like adults. That is a plus right there. And their relationship is not an obvious FAIL like the Gosselin's was.
The kids are all adorable and their interviews are some of the best parts of the show! As for the daughter with CP, yeah, I don't take that comment harshly. If you watch, it's their sense of humor and you can see how much that little girl is loved and cared for by all. Watching the gazzillion kids and counting and this is sorta like taking a wholesome shower after the nastiness that was J&K! |
