Parks and Recreation is set to begin broadcasting on April 9th 2009 on NBC and is co-created by The Office creator Greg Daniels and The Office writer Michael Schur. After early speculation, NBC chairman Ben Silverman confirmed that the show is not a spin off of The Office, but will be a mockumentary style series shot in a similar vein.
The series follows Leslie Knope, the head of the Parks and Recreation department in Pawnee, Indiana.[3] Knope takes on a project from a nurse
named Ann to turn a construction pit into a park, while trying to mentor a bored college-aged intern.
