Yeah that's the first Monaco I've ever seen that was boring.

I'm not into crash porn, but Kovaleinin's crash was kind of cool -- poor ffuker lost his tail and wham! race over.

WTF is up with this season? Button will have iced it by July, right?

Anyhow, the signature race. Nothing but nothing beats these guys blasting out of that tunnel.

The Brawn dominance is getting boring but there is usually a team or two being dominant. Better them than McLaren. Ferrari seems to be back in it so hopefully things will get shaken up. WTF happened at BMW? I think they want an excuse to quit. Good thing I just got rid of mine. I'm still missing the 5 spd and perfect shift knob though.

That was a very boring Monaco race. Usually there is more drama. A few crashes are always welcome there too. Out of the tunnel to the chicaine is always a great corner for action. Passing and accidents. This year, not so much.

Turkey is next and it's a good track for some passing. Hopefully some more action and a new winner.

Want it more exciting? Put the Armco back where they kept cutting the corner. Ballsy move by Rosberg passing Massa - Sir Frank must've been pleased.

That was a ballsy pass by Rosberg. And after Sir Frank's earlier comment about showboating during qualifying and practice but playing safe during the race. He may have felt he had something to prove. No more.

The Rascasse corner and the swimming pool complex is too easy now. The old way caused less accidents, but was a better show.

You used to see passing going downhill past the Casino but before the hairpin. Also some brave souls would pass at the hairpin. The chicane at the end of the tunnel is the only place anyone attempts now, but even then rarely. I was enjoying Massa trying to pass Vettel even though he lost a place doing it.

So Williams signs up for next season and is immediately kicked out of FOTA? The politics are looking like a cluster fuck on both sides now - Briatore and Ferrari dismissing any new teams, Mosley sticking to the 2-tier system for next year...

When you are playing hardball in negotiations, one member backing down and showing weakness hurts the cause. I'm really hoping the teams break away from the FIA and FOM. It won't happen, but it would be nice to get out from under the Bernie/Max dictatorship.

Formula One Teams Association. The were put together to negotiate for the teams. Williams is a member of that. By going against them, they work against the whole point of it.

Also, even if all the teams didn't sign up for next season by the May deadline, you don't really think that the FIA and FOM would go ahead without them? Next season is USGP and Williams now. Not going to happen. FOTA has the complete advantage, until teams like Williams start breaking away.

They have the advantage for what? All the big hitters like Ferrari, Mercedes and Renault can do is shoot down Max's ill-conceived budget restrictions for something more palatable and then come crawling back for their share of television and marketing revenue. I wonder if Flavio remembers how it was back at the beginning with Benetton?

That's what they want.

But I still think the teams should break away. It used to be that Bernie took 90% or something like that of F1 revenues. Now he takes 50%. Still outrageous. It's unbelievable that one man can own such a huge percentage of a sport. Could you imagine if the commissioner of the NBA, NHL, or MLB personally took 50% of all revenues? Insane.

If Briatore buys Renault, do you think he'll change his tune about a budget cap when he's footing the bills? No ING sponsorship, probably no Alonso, maybe even no more Renault powerplant...

Sounds like a deal is imminent with 2010 as an interim year and 2011 when full caps go into effect.

I'm liking the idea of customer cars. Just like the 60s. You could be a privateer and run a Ferrari or McLaren. I'm also loving the manufacturers leaving as team owners. It's more fun when privateers like Williams, Brawn, and McLaren (sort of) run manufacturer engines.

A budget cap is needed, but not so low that everyone is at the same level. 100 million sounds good. You still want rewards for getting big sponsorship. Don't want to to become some artificial kumbaya hippie lovefest where you don't keep score and everyone is the same. WORK FOR IT DAMMIT!!!

Things are looking as close as it's ever been to having a break away series. Alonso is right about his GP2 comment.

2005 and 2006 world champion Fernando Alonso made clear he is backing the preservation of today's teams.

I'm rather confused about what's going on. The FOTA teams applied to race next year but with conditions about the cap. So on June 12 when the teams for next year are announced will that be done with the conditions in mind? Or will this whole thing drag out until february or so.

Turkey is usually exciting because there are places to pass. But today it was pretty much the same old. I did like the Piqute/Hamilton fight. I didn't know Piquet had it in him.

For the rest of the season? I'd be happy if Button takes as many records off Schumacher as possible. I'm a bitch that way.

My last post is messed up and can't be edited properly. Here is what the quote said.

"With this revolution it seems like almost anyone can have a Formula One team," the Renault driver told Spanish media in Turkey, "and I think that's a big mistake for the sport."

When asked about Max Mosley's warning to rebel teams that they should flee to a breakaway series if they want to write their own rules, Alonso answered: "Hopefully it happens."

Two of the potential new teams, Campos and Epsilon Euskadi, are Spanish. "It would be a dream if there was a Spanish team," Alonso insisted, "but not if at the same time Formula One becomes a sort of 'big GP2'."
