As for the highly over the top sexualized self promotion of marginally talented vocalists who are much better as dancers, every decade produces a half dozen. It's all been done before.

I'd rather listen to Enoch Light or Percy Faith than anything contemporary these days. Instrumental Easy Listening music is where it's at! And you'll never see those guys walking around in panty hose and nude bra in public. Although I think she does that to distract us from her face.

Oh you!! :) Lord knows I don't always agree with the masses with my musical preferences, and normally I find a lot of new music (and new dance music) really crappy and repititious and unimaginative. I can totally understand NOT liking Gaga, believe me. I just like that she is different. Of course it's all calculated and stuff, but you have to have something that sets you apart from all the others doing similar stuff. Love her or hate her, she does that.

That was the most entertaining guest performance that American Idol has ever had the pleasure to showcase. And to think that I first saw Miss Lady GaGa performing during the swimsuit competition at Miss Universe 2008. I had no idea then that she would get a Grammy nomination and 2 No. 1 hit singles.

And odd in an okay way. It wasn't (entirely) lip-synched, so I wasn't expecting live perfect vocals (those are the exception, not the rule these days). I like her singles just fine.

Yet I was so fascinated that I looked her up and read the wikipedia article about her. It seems like she actually has a lot of talent so that makes me respect her more, even though she looks like Blossom from the future.

I think 'Just Dance' is an awesome song - catchy as hell - but to me, GaGa just looks like she's trying too hard. Something about her is very poser-ish.
