Wyclef may be one of the best live musicians on the planet. I saw him at House of Blues in Vegas and he rocked my world. I don't like GaGa, but I dont particularly care for Carrie #@%%!*$#. I dig bands like Earl Greyhound, Kings of Leon, Belle and Sebastian, The Shins, Porcupine Tree, Wyclef, Galactic, etc.... There are other bands that are talented and fun - Michael Franti and Spearhead, Cowboy Mouth, Tilly and The Wall, etc. I just don't think GaGa is the shit. She's good, not great. Seems like she's trying to hard. I know that Poker song is popular, but I would have preferred 'Just Dance' - that is a catchy ass song. So again, it isn't an either or thing.

I seriously wanted to gouge my eyes out. Last night was a VERY pleasant surprise in that I actually enjoyed her. I just wish that the judges critiqued the guest artists, as she is extremely "cabaret" and every other thing that Simon hates... It would have been really funny seeing him try to say something nice about her, considering that she is so "relevant" right now...

But the real reason I'm posting is, I heard on the radio that apparently Lady Gaga smashed a mic into a back-up dancers face during the performance, causing bleeding and knocking out three teeth. Woah! I didn't notice that happening, for sure.

I was seriously waiting for Simon to say that was a very "indulgent" performance and arrangement. I didn't enjoy her or hate on her. I usually FF the guest performances on Idol and I didn't this week because I was too busy goggling at my screen and asking "WTF?! Is this really #1 in America?"

Posts: 12 (04/03/09 11:16 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	the schtick lady gaga is selling was much more entertaining and convincing when gwen stefani did it back in 04 with her love, angel, music, baby album and her harajuku girls. check out gwen's wind it up video for a refresher. lady gaga is unoriginal and therefore unimpressive. not because everyone has to be original, lord knows most in pop music aren't. but she tries so hard to seem original all while stealing bits and pieces of other artists who came before her. and i agree with whoever said the zipper needs to be taken off her eye and put over her mouth.
