We "decorate" your camps and tree mails in a way that there are always plenty of "items" you can use to get creative. So do it. There's only 2 things that are going to happen, it embarrasses a dumbass or a smart person knows it fake but then is awkwardly forced to use it anyway. Where's the depth to this gimmick? At least give the smarter players some way to challenge fake idols / steal the real one / anything that isn't so fucking godawfully simple it's going to play out the same way forever. There has been at least one fake idol in every season since Fiji, and if Joe plays it here, that's 4 seasons in a row where we're supposed to laugh at a "dumbass" for trying to use everything they can to survive. If that doesn't translate into overplayed, I don't know what does. Actually, I do. It's called the HII.
