I do appreciate that it takes some skill to do, but I just.don't.enjoy.it. sucks, I didn't realize that! That's pretty neat, because they do seem to be elevated to "star status" much more than the SYTYCD contestants. I was just going off Frankie's post and assuming they didn't do it. Nifty.

There were a bunch of us waiting by the fence where they got on their buses. Bo and a couple of them waved. The rest of them stuck up their noses and didn't even look our way. Did you go to that seasons? Maybe they were friendlier elsewhere. Oh, and I love tap ... but it would be really annoying on the show.

And the thing is unlike hip hop dancers, it seems that a lot of the tap dancers don't get a lot of slack dancing outside of their comfort zone. I saw the first season where Sandra (First and only tap dancer) was doing a contemporary routine with Artem. They were pushing her hard, they were making her do tons of piourettes in her routine with Artem. They never do that to any of the hip hop dancers (Musa would just stand there while his partner does everything). I will cut Nigel, if we don't have more than 3 good (No Suzie, No Jonathan) ballroom dancers this year.

Anyone that takes dance classes has taken ballet and has technique from that. And tap dancers have probably been taking lessons since they were six. Hip hoppers often learn to dance on the street and don't take formal classes and have no technique, if they do take classes they generally start later in life (18 vs 16).

Star Charged with Rape Posted Aug 18th 2009 12:26PM by TMZ Staff A former choreographer for "So You Think You Can Dance" was arrested again for allegedly sexually assaulting four women -- but this time he's actually being charged with a crime ... or eight, to be exact. Cops say Alex Da Silva was arrested this morning at his North Hollywood home, after the District Attorney filed an arrest warrant charging him with eight felony counts of assault. That includes four counts of forcible rape, two counts of assault with intent to commit rape and two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object. The D.A. says the alleged assaults occurred between August 2002 and March 2009. The four alleged victims were between the ages of 20 and 26 and were all dancers or aspiring dancers who say they met Alex through his dance instruction classes. Alex was arrested for pretty much the same thing back in April, but prosecutors declined to press charges -- saying further investigation was needed to move forward. Alex is being held on $6.2 million bail.
