I enjoyed the first episode - I'll definitely be back for more.
When they chose to to ignore the suggested route on the map to go around the mountain and decided to go OVER it instead was great! But my favorite part was when they gave up on fishing because, as one said, "I'm pretty certain there's no fish in Alaska" and the camera immediately cut to an underwater shot of all the fish in the river. It reminded me of Survivor Australia when Mitch made a similar comment followed by a shot of all the fish in the river. |

Crap. I was kind of hoping this show would be about moving a handful of Palins to a big city. |

Curse of the gopher <3
Interesting that they've already lost the only 2 people with any outdoors experience though. I wonder if I'm the only person watching this... |

I am watching this show and its a nice little show.
Of course without the deadliest in front of it I would have never seen it. And why did they give them food at the shack? I guess they were didnt want to film the "Donner Family Part two" |

GeckoIsGod wrote: Yeah, that was odd. It seemed like neither one of them wanted to step up as leaders. Like I couldn't believe the older lady didn't start a fire the first night when the others were struggling with it and she knew what to do. She waited until the next day to show them how to start one. I guess they both left because they didn't want to be saddled with all of the city slickers? It kind of pissed me off. Carolyn <3 for skinning that gopher! |

The first season of this show (just called "The Alaska Experiment") was really good. It was a lot like PBS's "Frontier House", only
rougher. I haven't been able to watch any of this season yet, though.

This season looks better than last, where we had a geeky dad who complained about lumps on his scrotum and asks his daughters "do they feel weird to
you?", very gross. I like this setup better. They should have given them more guns, I would love to see them hunt some moose and Grizzly bear.
I can see why the two most experienced dropped out though, who wants to carry people along for 45 days? Their fellow Survivors did them in faster than mother nature. Why in the hell did that 50 year old black guy volunteer for this in the first place? What was he expecting, Winnabego's and beer around the campfire? He had to know what he was getting into and he was dead on his feet within the first 20 minutes - truly pathetic. |

Jake sure does look tasty. I would climb up one side and down the other!

This one's ok but, like Crap, I liked last year's version. That one had several little groups set up each in their own area, to survive as best they
could, depending on themselves and their own skills. This year's version makes it only as good as what the 'weakest' one can take, which is
probably why the experienced people bailed on it. A bright spot though, IMHO, has been Carolyn, who has come thru with some mad skills for a city lawyer -
field dressing & butchering a gopher, putting together a camp meal that everyone could eat with very limited supplies. And made a pretty fast recovery
from being sick, without a lot of whining (at least what we could see.) I think it will go better for them, now that the older guy (John?) is gone - he really
held them back. It's good to see the women holding their own, shooting food, etc.

I was looking forward to watching this because I really enjoyed the first one. After the first two episodes though I have to say that I liked the first season
much better than this one. I liked how they were separated into different camps last year and tested their relationships. Hopefully it will get better. <3
Jake though.

my favorite part of this show is no big prize with 1 winner. they all win.
self accomplishment is the greatest prize of all...and lasts longer than money. |

Last season got butchered thanks to the one group that abandoned their cabin and trekked to another groups shelter. I would have sent them packing or told them
to hit the panic button. That wasn't very cool of them to impose on others because they were weaklings. I still prefer this season because it looks more
brutal, they are in a real survival situation.
