two days before Rita hit the gulf coast - I was supposed to revisit the doctor about the puncture (stepped on a nail) the day everyone was fleeing Houston.

My last one was in May, 2000. From a cat fight. The cat won and my hand got a bad infection. My arm was really sore from the shot.
Smallpox is the one that "bubbles up" on your arm. |

The arm bubble one is a Tuberculosis test.
They don't even administer the Smallpox vaccine any more. |

2005 and I got very ill, arm swelled up and looked like there was a softball in it. Had a 104 fever, ended up in ER being told I'm now allergic to the
tetnus vaccine
all after I got a nasty burn on my thumb from a soldering iron. |

The standard they go by is if you have an injury that would require a tetanus shot you should get one if:
1) you can't remember when your last one was OR 2) your last one was more than 10 years ago So, I made it a point of remembering the date because my arm got so sore from the last one.

1988. I got off the riding lawn mower and forgot to put it in neutral. I chased it (yeah, snicker), and some metal part tore off the nail of my big toe as I
tried to stop it (I had flip-flops on). Went to the ER and they made me get the shot.
