Schenectady is worse than Albany imo and the rest are all west. Going north to Saratoga,Lake George.etc is better and as far as camping there are lots of places in the Adirondacks but don't think they'll be open in May-maybe but not sure. OK the one thing I remember my brother say is that if you plan on camping do it ALL the time. He said once they decided to stay in a motel because it was raining they got spoiled and were like "fuck that camping shit" and didn't camp again the whole trip.
