I agree, firing people because they don't bring enough money is complete and uber bullshit. Then just ask all of them to write a check, every week the celeb who has the smallest amount gets fired. There's no defending Melissa reacting like a fucking 5 year old, but Brande should've been the one who got the axe. She was PM and completely let Annie walk all over her.
I totally understand people here hating on the Rivers, but I don't see how Brande is the hero of this season either.

I know the overall goal is to raise money but that is mainly focused on in the FINALE.
Throughout the season Donald has fired people based on what the task set out to do, not on who raised the most money. |

Trump made the best decision possible. The part of the layout that cost them the challenge was the part handled by Melissa/Brande, which meant Annie
didn't deserve to be fired. And of the two, not only has Brande been more consistently the better player task-wise, but Melissa's personality and the
whole Rivers defending Rivers thing was causing constant problems for both teams. Melissa was a poor co-worker while Brande, for the most part, was not.

The thing is too, it's not like Brande did such an inexcusable job that she deserved to be fired. The client like both ads and said it was close.
Melissa should have gotten fired instead of Tionne so this is just one way of evening things out... |

If it was just about money, Melissa could buy and sell Annie Duke. She's only made 3 million playing poker and Melissa is a genuine heiress.
I read about Annie - and I'm pretty sure she and her brother were the inspiration for the characters in The Grand (Cheryl Hines and David Cross). Joan is right - poker players are not exactly the salt of the earth that Annie makes them out to be. Although some have last names, like Markoff. And as crazy as Melissa was, I feel she was driven to it. We know from her confessional that Annie was doing exactly what Melissa was accusing her of, but she was denying it to Melissa. They have a word for this, it's called Gaslighting. That's when you intentionally drive someone crazy by denying what is happening - even though you are behind the whole thing. Melissa had nothing to do with them losing their task. I have a feeling the firings are more about drama (so many seem unjustified) than performance. Clint should have been gone when he did that soft core porno for detergent. |

This was a task that involved creating a magazine layout. Was Melissa fired for something related to the magazine layout. No. At least not by what I was watching. It was Brande's fault they all lost. No ifs, end's or buts. Thats it. At this point in TCA seasons (6 people 3 vs. 3) it should go one of a few ways. 1. Every man for himself. Trump tells them that as a group of 6 (or to not strain to much it could still be in a 3 vs. 3 scenario) they have a task like the Ivanka Jewelry auction but its silent so no one really knows if people did step up or not. They all step out and present the item they choose and the two bottom money raisers go. Simple as that. Then they have a final four. Interviews happen and then we either go to a final 2 or just knock one person off and go to a final 3 and have the celebs go one on one on one and do an event specifically for their charity and the 2 best received events (also in conjunction with money raised) are the final 2 and have to put on a concert and sporting event or something. 2. Make it 2 vs 2 vs 2 and have a task and vote off the two lowest raising celebs as a group. It will make people really work together or really excel. What ever it be make it at the F6 who can raise the most money. I think Trump would have been 100% right if this were his criteria all along or said "You will be fired if you dont raise enough money" but he treated it as TA1-6 in that he always stressed the project manager. Like everyone agrees in this thread if it weren't charity then Brande would be gone. And she should. |

All of this is beside the point of what Trump wants. Bottom line is, the "Donald" likes his women (Brande) and can use a smart person who can bring
in a lot of money (Annie). He could give a shit about Melissa, as could I. He loves Joan though as do I, so the right Rivers was fired.
But I really liked it when Joan was saying to Annie "You're a poker player, a POKER player"! With such disdain - she put her in her place. Of course Joan being on Broadway, TV and comedy tours, on Carson, Letterman, ..... - she can say that. But her flaw is maybe pushing her daughter down our throats. She's pushing her like Beyonce is pushing Solange - we just don't want them. |

That was meant figuratively not literally. The rest of the post goes on to say several times about them 'raising' money.
Read a post before you comment on it. But at the end of the day you can look at it two ways. As a TV show, in which this added drama and got people talking and is interesting...and also as a competition, in which this situation sucks and is complete bullshit. I'm no big fan of Melissa but she could definitely control people in the final task better (without a doubt) then Brande and Clint. Jesse is a "most likely" case, and Annie is debatable. She deserved to be there in the end for her WORK ETHIC and her money raising abilities. It brings it back to Brande is only there because she fucked a lot of rich guys. |
