If you already have it on DVD I wouldn't worry about it. Your player should 'up' the quality a bit. Not as much as a blu-ray but better than a
regular DVD. And yeah a blu-ray version of a non-hi-def movie can still look better. I've only double dipped when a) I knew I could get rid of my DDVs and
b) if there was something extra that wasn't on the DVD that looks cool. I've only done that a couple times. Mostly I just buy stuff on blu-ray that I
didn't own before.

Yeah I wasn't really planning on replacing anything. Was just wondering if I were going to buy an old movie, is it worth the extra $ to buy the blu-ray.
I just got band of brothers on blu-ray for 50 bux through that Amazon sale |

Yeah they can pretty things up that weren't in hi-def originally. Plus they usually have some fun blu-ray only features. If you don't already own it
I'd say "Go for it Stephanie!"
(channeling a little Frank Drebin, "Naked Gun" there. Sorry) |

My friend let me watch his Basic Instinct BluRay (which I'd never seen). It's about 20 years old and looked noticeably stunning. I could see the
individual hairs on Sharon Stone's hoo ha. ;)

Pre-ordered mine from Amazon last weekend. And I paid extra for the upgraded shipping. Bastards better not get it to me a week after the release date, like
they did with S3.

Guess I'll pre-order mine w/upgraded shipping, too. I better not get an empty box this time.

Pre-ordered one of the Dharma versions for me and another for my brother.

You're sweet. I don't spend that much money on my evil siblings.

Me neither.

I'm going to see if I can get a crate somewhere (maybe Chinatown) and pack it in there with shredded newspaper or something along with some 'supplies' from the Dharma Initiative. I printed off some Dharma labels for things like Cashews, Hot Sauce, Chili, tuna, and will throw them in the crate too. I think my dad has a crowbar so I might nail it shut too :) |

You should get an old parachute and attach it to it, for an added touch.

I thought about that but where to get one? Maybe I'll just fashion one out of an old bedsheet. |

Check if there are any skydiving schools in your area. Maybe they have old chutes that they are taking out of service. Also, maybe there are military surplus
stores on the net that might have one.

CP - you are a saint. I would go to that much trouble for some people, just not a sibling. My brother gets bags of coal or some other prank
gift (he likes that) and my sister - she's fucking mean so I don't give her shit.
eta - I found a miniature short bus for my brother a couple of years ago. Dat was funny. |
