There weren't any parentheses nor exponents (too "highbrow" for them, probably), so I think they just went one operation at a time.
Between that and Debbie's "40 + 20 = 50, no: 70!", it was not a great night for mathematicians. |

It was suppose to be worked in a linear fashion, it wasn't following the order of operations.
Next you're going to complain they don't have a works cited page. |

1 plus 2 times 3 does not equal 9, it equals 7 doing that problem left to right like that might win the necklace on Survivor but it won't get you any points on the GRE. |
