Sorry for the delay. The last couple days have been busier than I anticipated. Here's #22...
22. Tina Wesson (Winner- Survivor: The Australian Outback)
First off let me say this: Tina Wesson is the single most overrated player ever. She gets way too much credit for her game, and the fact that people can call her the best player ever nauseates me. The reason I didn't pick a quote for her is because every single quote about her game is overrating it, but there were no super memorable quotes about her anyway.
That being said, she played a good game. The alliance between herself and Colby was one of the most successful alliances ever. I'm in the minority when I say that the Colby/Tina alliance was equal on both ends, meaning Colby used Tina just as much as she used him. Because of this, lots of the stuff I'm going to say that supports Tina's game will also support Colby's game, because they were largely equal, imo.
The way Tina started off Survivor: Australia was a pretty common method used to get far. She stayed under-the-radar, performed well enough to get by in challenges, and made sure that everybody liked her. She developed friendships (particularly with Colby) that would help pay off in the long run. The first two TC's with Ogakor were obvious boots, but her social game started to pay off in episode 4. Together with Colby, she went against Jerri's clique that was in the majority at the time. Most credit for that move goes to Colby, but Tina did what she could to get Colby on her side, so that he would be joining a good alliance, rather than just some random people who didn't like Jerri.
Over the next 4 rounds, Tina's alliance of herself, Colby, Keith, Jerri and Amber regained the majority. It started off with an IC win and Skupin getting evacuated (we have no way of knowing who would've won the F11 IC so I don't want to hear any conspiracy theories). The Ogakor 5 had it set up so that they would gain the majority by voting for Jeff and ensuring that Keith had immunity. Tina ensured Keith's immunity win by stepping off the pole after ten hours so Keith won. Again, an overrated move, but it was necessary. The plan worked, and Jeff got out at F10, and Ogakor kept their majority by voting off Alicia at F9.
At this point, Tina was in the majority either way, thanks to her alliance of 3 within her alliance of 5, which gave her more room to be flexible. When the original target, Nick, won immunity, Tina and Colby were faced with the option of voting out someone in the minority, or voting with the minority and their "good people should win" philosophy. They chose the latter, which was actually the better of the two options. They knew that Jerri/Amber had the capability to jump ship if they needed to, which was later proven right when Amber tried to form a counter-alliance, so it was smart of Tina (and Colby) to jump to Rodger/Elisabeth/Nick before Amber and Jerri did. Rodger and Elisabeth weren't people who would turn on alliances to get themselves further, so as long as Tina (and Colby) beat Jerri/Amber to the punch, they were all set. Jerri got out, thus eliminating a wild card and a potential challenge threat (Jerri had already won two reward challenges at that point).
They then took out another potential challenge threat in Nick. Amber was already a wild card at that point, and outside of the "good people" alliance, so Tina's alliance was successful in making the Final 5. Tina remained close with her longtime allies in Colby and Keith, and they picked off Rodger and Elisabeth. Tina ended up in the Final 3 with someone who she was very close with and had a Final 2 deal with (Colby) and someone who was very easy to beat (Keith). Colby won the last challenge, and brought Tina to the Final 2. Tina gets too much credit for "playing Colby" which I think is ridiculous, because she clearly would've taken Colby, too. Either way, Tina deserves credit for being in such a strong two-person alliance that lasted the whole 42 days. She then beat Colby in a 4-3 vote.
Like I said, Tina's game is very overrated, but it was still pretty good. She played a very good social game, everyone liked her, and was in the controlling twosome for last 30 days of the game.
Loses points for: The fact that Colby played better than she did (yes, Colby will be on this list later), and there was nothing standout or spectacular about her game. She played a solid game, but nothing standout, other than the fact that she won a million dollars, which 16 other people have done. |

Tina ensured Keith's immunity win by stepping off the pole after ten hours so Keith won.VOMIT @ you even mentioning that. Ambergoddess and Jerrigoddess did the exact same thing as Tina yet get 0 credit. Tina should have jumped off earlier but she was too dumb and just stood their aimlessly for ages. Keith and Colby were the only two who actually went to great lengths to help ogakor get a strategic advantage in this challenge. Oh and Parvati >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tina both times easily. |

Erinn is a smart girl and the finale proved that she definitely played pretty damn well given the shitty hand she was dealt with. She learned from how the
other Timbira members scrambled and she took the smarter way by saying that Taj was a pretty damn big social threat and shut up after that. She's overrated
because her game was so hidden throughout and the finale was pretty much about her till she got voted off. I love her too, she's definitely one of the best
scramblers the game has ever seen imo.

Nobody other than fantards of the people you listed, Ken, actually takes them as legit players, though. Everybody, from casual fans to hardcore fans, thinks that Tina is some sort of mastermind and one of the best people to ever play the game. She's good, but nowhere near that good. |

Here's #21...
21. Colby Donaldson (Runner-Up- Survivor: The Australian Outback) "One thing I don't think people realize is I didn't pick Tina because I wanted to give her a million dollars. I picked Tina because I wanted to beat her." -Colby Donaldson
As I said in Tina's write-up, Colby and Tina played very similar games, so I can't rank one too high over the other. This write-up will be shorter, since I said a lot of Colby's game in Tina's write-up.
Unlike Tina, Colby was always in the majority alliance on Ogakor. He was in an alliance of himself, Amber, Jerri and Mitchell. They controlled the first two boots, but with Jerri being in the majority, Colby saw that people outside the majority were bound to get fed up with her. When Ogakor lost the fourth immunity challenge, Colby was faced with the decision of staying with his Jerri alliance or jumping ship to Tina and Keith. It was definitely smart of him to join with Tina and Keith, for several reasons. One, Jerri was bound to aggravate people and it was smart of Colby to separate himself from her. He was also in the guaranteed majority either way (4-1 or 3-2), but in a Final 4 of himself, Jerri, Amber and Mitchell, he would probably get 4th place, while he had strong social connections with Tina and would likely get to the Final 2. Mitchell also pretty much asked to be voted out, thus making it even smarter to jump over with Tina and Keith. Mitchell already had one past vote against him, so he was guaranteed to get out if there was a tie.
Pretty much everything from Final 11 to Final 7 I said in Tina's write-up, because everything Tina did, Colby also did, and it was smart for both of them. One thing that Colby stood out over Tina was making himself a decoy target at the merge, so Ogakor was guaranteed the majority, since he had no past votes against him.
Colby knew the smart thing to do was vote out Amber at F6, for the same reasons it was smart for Tina, but Colby saw that Amber was going to get voted out either way. Because of this, he could afford to throw a vote at Rodger, thus making Amber less mad at him than she would be at Colby, which would potentially give him her jury vote (and it eventually did). From that point, Colby stuck with his numbers and voted out Elisabeth and Rodger. He was in the Final 3 with his longtime Final 2 ally. He won the challenge, and took Tina, because he wanted to beat Tina. Taking Keith would be taking the easy way out. It all depends on which jury and which decision they would respect more. Look at Tocantins. Nobody said that Stephen was "zomg such a mastermind! He played JT so much!" I would've voted for Colby if I were on the jury.
The bottom line is that Colby was in control the whole time, and he was the one deciding which way the game would go. He's the reason Tina was in the end, and she can thank Colby for her title as the most overrated player ever.
Loses points for: Lack of competition, and some questionable decisions. |

Being the original person to take the "wrong person" to the F2....he'll never live it down. |
