Why can't they give the teams freedom to choose among taxi, train or bus like what they did to TAR1? I love taxi race but I want teams to win a leg/get eliminated because of how they make decisions on transportation/money and not solely relying on their taxi drivers.

Even though they couldn't drive there, TAR10 had a good compromise by making the teams navigate themselves for the second half of Leg 1, take a bus in Leg 3 and (I think?) tell the boats were to go in Leg 4. And with the the seemingly challenging navigation in Mongolia in between. There's plenty of ways to plan legs more interesting than "take a taxi".
