I hate it when people say a compliment that is a thinly disguised insult. That is exactly what Coach did to Taj at TC. He said, she has made the ultimate
sacrifice, giving up precious days with her son that she will NEVER get back to be on Survivor. He wanted to torture her with his comment. Then, he votes for
her.

Ok you will probably be flamed for making this thread, but I have to agree that was a really nasty comment Coach made! It
was a torturous thing to say. I think he finally realized sometime between the two episodes that she hates him. lol
And then there was that insider comment from him about how she was "too independent" for him to influence her with his wisdom, and improve her, the way he'd supposedly been able to do with others there. I think she finally lost patience, and cut him down off camera and put him in a rage. |

many survivors are so full of back-handed compliments all the time in their comments throughout the show. all you have to do is change the background music
on some of them, and you'll begin to see that all they're doing is saying, "well, so-and-so is good at that, almost as good as me!" or
"yeah, she's pretty good at that and pretty strong, FOR A GIRL." it's kinda funny actually.

I agree. A lot of the comments have been funny (like JT making his speech about Coach's honesty, or Taj calling Coach's stories
'unbelievable!', but what Coach pulled was beyond the pale.

There once was a thread called "Backhandedly Compliment Each Survivor in Boot Order".
It lived for a year and a quarter. Off page 20 it flew, This was all pre-Yuku, And no one had ezSupporter. |

I watched that clip again at TC, and Coach is such a Dork Flake I think he was trying to justify
in his mind and the way all the others were supposed to vote for Taj that night. So voting for Taj would not send her home to her family, it would put her on the Jury and she would still have to stay there the same amount of time. Moments before Coach said this about Taj, Taj said that coach was a Warrior & a Dragon Slayer and that burned-up Coach inside. And I'M sure Coach hates Jeff for putting him down. Classic Coach lines: For me to Pit Myself against..... and the best one: ''It would be fucking stupid if we made an alliance, gave it a name, bandied the name about, talked about ourselves being warriors and then chickened out at the last second.'' Coach is the Ultimate Douche Dork Poser in Reality TV History. |

Sorry, but If I were in Taj's shoes, I wouldn't have left my son. She didn't need the money. Being away from her son for more than a month and half
isn't worth 10 millions dollars. I hafta agree with Douche there. This is one of the reasons I was opposed to her being on the show in the beginning. She
has won me over tho. I felt for her when she cried buckets. I hope she wins now ironically, just so it will have been at least bearable for her.
