No, not at all. I did not intend it to be. I really am a fan of both (and actually plan on voting for both). I just brought up some facts that I think are difficult to dispute in terms of what will actually go down next Tuesday night when voting begins. Just thinking of the logical is all. I hope this thread doesn't evolve into any kind of battle between the groups. If so, please close it.

An Adam/Gokey finale had more potential for an Adam victory, but I can't see a way that Lambert wins now.

Ignoring the fact that Kris won the coin toss and will be going last (last year, that didn't matter), other factors come into play:

1. I am sure many (not all but many) Danny fans will be giving their votes to Kris.
2. Casual fans who vote will migrate toward Kris because Adam is quite polarizing.
3. Kris (never in bottom), Adam (not only bottom 3, but 2)
4. Kris has that southern vote + religious vote locked.
5. Adam is gay.

Now, I am a fan of both and would be glad to see either win but taking all this into account, can anyone honestly see Adam winning the competition now?

1. you assume that Danny fans are going to watch the finale instead of be praying at their alters due to the fact that this result proves to them that there is no GOD
2. Casual fans won't vote either way. That's why they are called casual fans

I don't think Kris OR Adam is a lock to win at this point. Both are super talened but very different. Adam has that big amazing voice and can pretty much rip your face off with his range whereas Kris has this very sweet singer/songwriter vibe about him that is very appealing.

Just like last year we go into this finale not sure who is going to win but unlike last year I don't care which one wins because they are both great.

1. I don't think Danny fans will stay away from the finale and just not vote. If you go on IDF and many other Idol-related forums, you will see post after post of Danny fans saying they will power vote for Kris now because Adam knocked Danny out and Kris is the most like Danny.

2. Casual fans are actually the ones who MAKE a difference when the vote is this tight. They watch and go with whom they think had a better night. I don't see a casual fan thinking Adam's polarizing performances are better than a low key song that we will probably hear from Kris.

3. Kris was in the bottom three, according to the show, one time- but was immediately sent to safety. We don't know if we was actually in a bottom two or anything. That being said, for a finalist who was never pimped or given over the top praise from any of the judges, him not being in the bottom say, as many times as Allison, proves something about his fanbase.

5. Trust me, I am shocked he even made it to the final 2. But, a gay Idol winner over a boy next door from the South?

I don't remember every week but I know that he made the bottom three more than once. At the beginning I think he was there a few weeks in a row. Adam made the bottom three once and that was only when there were five left. and you're assuming that because he was left on stage while Kris went to safety that he was actually the bottom two. They do that shit for drama.... their history is the shocking elimination and they love it.

Apparently, in their minds, they got that with Danny this week.

Kris has never been in the bottom other than that one week with the Adam shocker. And one can assume Adam was actually the 3rd lowest and Kris the 2nd and they did it for drama, but who knows? Point being, aside from that, Kris has never been declared anything but "safe" from the very first round of the competition.
