Morning y'all! Nope, not gonna make it to Charleston this time...we'll save that for the next trip down here (because there will be another).
Driv if you don't like the pictures, don't open the thread and read it. No one is putting a gun to your head and making you. Ok so here's an amusing story about our sojourn to Hilton Head yesterday...when we were going to get passes to the Lighthouse, the lady at the kiosk turned out to be a representative from Marriott Vacation Club. In exchange for an hour and a half of our time at a timeshare presentation today, we got $100 in dining certificates we could use at any of Marriott's partner vendors on HHI...which was a lot of them. So we had a solid lunch and an unbelievable dinner yesterday and it only cost us tip money. Score! So today we're going back to HHI for this timeshare thing, then once we politely decline to join we'll go back to Savannah for one more swing through town. Tomorrow we head to Jacksonville, FL to visit a friend for a day, then Friday we're heading home. |

Well we were at Harbour Town, and we had lunch at The Crazy Crab and dinner at Topside At The Quarterdeck.

the quarterdeck is good, crazy crab is pretty meh but since you were there on a slow day it was probably better food and service than usual. food here is not
that great (i would have told you to go to charlie's crab-bill clinton's favorite) but you have savannah for that.
lissie, beaufort is pretty dull. there are some interesting little historical pockets but not much to see. |

I thought the town was chock full of antiques shops.
Was I lied to? ETA: South Carolina....I think it's close to Hilton Head, no?

I've been to Beaufort NC, but not since I was a little kid so I don't remember much except the sand dunes that seemed to go on forever.

beaufort,SC is about 20 miles away from HHI-on the way to or from savannah, right off I95. and yes, there are antique shops but there are no bargains and not
that much good stuff anymore.

Yeah, it's close to HH. It's just pretty boring like Fac said. Beaufort NC is way cooler.
The beach house is 15 min from Beaufort NC, so I'm there 3 or 4 times a year. I love the shops and restaurants down by the waterfront. |
