Excellent job by Adam, IMO. More shrieky than I'd like, but still excellent. Now to see what Kris does!

Last season, Simon wanted David Cook to win, and made sure he did by generating floods of pity votes. Simon probably knows pity votes have helped Kris, and if
he's nice to Kris, then people who are voting based on seeing the show as unfair to Kris will be less likely to vote.

That just became a song about being gay in a homophobic country. He sang it as such. Well done.

Adam Lambert.
Change Is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke Yes! That's some serious blue/brown eyed soul to start out, with just some electric guitar accompaniment. Heartfelt and understated first line; if anything, a bit too understated as he heads into the second line. Midway through that line, though, here comes some volume and some good gospel belt-out. Add in a high note for good measure heading into the final verse, all above the melody line. Chills for this Allison fan down the stretch. Powerful and emphatic ending, nailed. Don't think the anti-shouters will like it at all, though. A 9. Randy: So listen. That song is an amazing R&B classic. What you did just there, you showed the real reason you're here, you can sing your face off. That was unbelievable! Kara: That may have been your best performance and interpretation of a song since the beginning of this competition. The high notes, pulling it back, that combination is a winner. Using both sides of yourself. Paula (shrill): That was the best I've ever heard you sing! Ever! Unbelievable! You look like a superstar up there! I'm in awe of your talent, whatever happens with this Idol Journey, you will be iconic! You are! Simon: Poler is sitting on the fence a bit. After that, just one thing to say: You are 100% back in the game. Congratulations. |
