The goal of Survivor is to not be voted off and to be the last one standing..no matter what. 18 (19 once Samoa airs) people have done this and they are the best players from their individual seasons. You can argue some people are more likable, better strategists, greater athletes, etc..but only one person each season comes out on top..and they are the best that season. First off, I'm not a delusional Amandatard. I don't even like Amanda. But she played a great game in China, especially better than COURTNEY!!! And "The person who comes out on top is the best in their season" is ridiculous, because it's really not that simple. Survivor: Amazon, for instance. It all came down to one challenge "The Final 3 challenge" between Jenna and Rob. The winner of that would win the game. Jenna won the challenge, so she won the game. So you would call her the better player than Rob because of ONE CHALLENGE? That's complete BS. Same thing with Gabon, it all came down to who won the firemaking tiebreaker, which came down to who Sugar thought was more deserving ([elizaeyeroll]), which was Bob, so he won. Just because you won doesn't make you the best player. Anyone who thinks that Jenna M is a better player than Rob C, Sandra is a better player than Fairplay, Amber is a better player than Rob M, Aras is a better player than Cirie, Bob is a better player than anyone, etc. is ridiculous. You can say "There is one goal to the game, and it's to win, and the person who does that is the best player." all you want, but it's not that simple.

It doesn't matter how good of a player you are if all you do is play nice and never get targetted like she did, because pretty much ANYONE can be a sheep in Survivor and get to the end. And in fact, you can't even give Amanda credit for being a sheep because she, just by being who she naturally is, is a strong candidate to go deep in ANY season. Courtney had to overcome more to make it to the end (or at least to the merge) and she managed to get two votes from the jury because of it. Todd had to make the jury respect him. Amanda did neither of these things. She basically rode the wave to the end easily, due to being a young, semi-attractive, semi-athletic, inoffensive girl, which is basically the perfect person to be if you want to go far.

Did you see Amanda orchestrate James' boot, taking out the biggest threat in the game with two HII's, whilst not letting Todd cast a security vote for Peih-Gee? Yet you call her a sheep???? Amanda would've won if she didn't give such a horrendous FTC performance, there's no two ways about it. She would've won, not come back for Micronesia, and none of you people would hate her. Courtney only got two votes because Denise and James were bitter against Todd and Amanda for playing the game.

As for the jury votes..Courtney went in with no votes and gained some..Amanda walked in with solid votes and lost them..that would make Courtney better. As for the "best player" shit..as i said no one will convince me otherwise. I can't say that Cesternino would win against Jenna in another season..but in Amazon, Jenna was the best player. As i've said before..Jenna was the best player in Amazon (with those twists and rules, etc). Lets end this because there is no convincing me otherwise. ETA: Also if Courtney was a lying twat like Amanda and Todd..there would have been no one for bitter jurors to direct their votes at..therefore Courtney played better than Amanda in that aspect too.

True enough, but Denise was one of the last jurors to speak (if not the last?) so she saw Courtney's honest even more through the FTC. She likely would have voted for Courtney anyway thought, like you said (since Todd has been honest at the FTC and she didn't end up voting for him). I think if Amanda had made a huge effort to apologize to Denise, or work her in some way (assuming she is the great player a lot of people claim) she may have won Denise over...maybe not..but she barely tried (and made it worse). ETA: But Courtney still won over that extra vote..I'm assuming Amanda lost Jaime, James and JR's vote that night..all of which could easily have voted for her.
