Inevitable "Rank the Winners" Thread

Which should be grounds for cheating but of course Fox is happy with their wholesome Idol & Adam doesn't need the title like Allen does. But cheating is still cheating. Next season you can bet they'll be a limit on how many times each phone line can vote. Being able to vote quickly 10,800 times for free & for 2 extra hrs per person quickly stacks up votes, opposed to no free AT&T phones for Adam fans & only the allotted 4 hrs. Alot of Adam fans couldn't afford to vote like the Allen voters since they had to pay for each text or call & it's not cheap. Wish Adam fans would refuse to pay their AT&T bill & sue the unethical bastards. I give Allen props for looking totally stunned & first words out of his mouth were "Adam deserved this." Pretty much sums it all up right there. Sadly for Allen's sake, this season will go down in people's memory with being the one that Adam really won if you minused the power texting software, free AT&T phones & extra time to vote. 38 million votes coming from a 2.8 million populated state tells ya right there something stinks in season 8 of Idol. Adam will become a superstar regardless and a year from now, nobody will remember Allen except as the guy that didn't really win. Singing should be done effortlessly & it was awkward & uncomfortable to watch Allen at times strive to hit certain notes. Adam will always be the real winner of season 8 & that's what most people will remember of this season. Kris who? teal deer

Do you work for Fox? =O (Yes I did sludge thru that "paragraph" sue me ) And yes if they were gonna cheat I'm sure they'd cheat for KRIS and not for Adam considering Kris was the chosen one all season right?

Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	I agree with a lot of what Sunnflower said, but the lack of paragraphing really hurt the posting. However, the 38 million votes from Arkansas thing certainly isn't Sunnflower's idea; it's been all over Sucks and I've seen it in magazines and other places too. Since Kris' win was mildly surprising, it's easy to come up with conspiracy theories about why. In this case, there's even a small chance it's actually true. I also want to address the question of whether Idol would have made it to a second season if somebody other than Kelly had won. Here goes: Justin - MAYBE. Justin has been such a joke since his CD and From Justin To Kelly both flopped that it's hard to remember that he has a nice (if unremarkable) voice, and was one of the favorites to win (along with Tamyra) until Kelly came on big several weeks into the finals. The judges all loved him, Simon praised him in his book, etc. And his CD isn't actually bad (or great): it just has a horrible cover. Nikki- NO. Simon certainly would have demanded that the show be taken off the air. Tamyra- MAYBE. Like Justin, Tamyra has been excessively criticized in Sucks in recent years, especially for her CD (which I happen to like) and her non-career after Idol. Ryan - MAYBE. But I had a crush on her, so what do I know? The Gay J's, Christina, etc.- NO With Justin and Tamyra, I think it's imposible to say how their CDs would have done if they had won, Released in a timely manner, and (in Justin's case) with a better cover, they might have done fine. And then there's the question of how Kelly's first CD would have done if SHE had come in second. Bottom line: there's too many what ifs for any of us to be sure what would have happened if the outcome was different.
