I've read the V diaries and Twilight. They really are not the same. Yeah, teenagers in high school but the similarity really end there. Hoping the show
is better than the book. I didn't go beyond the first book.

I read this series in the eighth grade. The TV version is dumber than middle-school level reading. It's now like One Tree Hill with fangs. Wicked stupid
and not sexy.

Missed the first 10 minutes but the lead dude/vampires eyes turned black when he was near an open wound.
My 12 yr old is very indignant so far, lol, she says it is a total Twilight knockoff. |

So far I'm having horrible flashbacks of being dragged to see Twilight. I had to laugh when just after the girl finished her's, the vampire had his
own "Dear diary..." sequence. At least the vampires in this one actually enjoy blood and violence I suppose, or so it has been hinted.

The books precede Twilight by a decade, so your 12 year old should be disgusted by Stephenie Meyer. So far the series has stuck to the same plot and characters
as the books.

I liked it. It's not going to win any awards but it's better than most everything on the CW.

I actually liked this a lot. And this isn't a "Twilight" knock-off. This series actually came before Twilight. The only issue I had as far as
Vampires are concerned is that they can go out in the sunlight as long as they have a ring on? And I feel bad for bashing the lead actress. She actually
wasn't that terrible. Kevin Williamson did a good job. I kind of worry if they're pushing the romance aspect of it too quickly too. Once two people you
see become an item, the "magic" kind of fades away. I'll watch next week.

It wasn't the ring that helped him! It was the cool shades!

But didn't Boone say something about sunlight in a few hours and then asked him where his ring was?
