Yeah she's really good. I'm impressed, thanks for sharing Cheezy.
So far I've been impressed with every Dutch Idol contestant I've seen. I haven't seen tons but I've never checked one out and then been like, ewww. Props to the Netherlands. Also *high five* to KMCMF for agreeing with me about Ricki-Lee. |

The Rickileenellousy in here is outrageous! RickiGoddess will always reign high. I love the bitch, she's hot, talented, and fierce.

I fully admit my hate for Ricki-Lee is mostly irrational.
I found some good bonus videos for today. Also I have come to the conclusion that the Netherlands is full of pretty people, I have yet to see a really ugly Dutch Idol contestant and all of the contestants I've seen are rather attractive. Jamai, Jim, Hind and Dewi are all cute, Boris is hot stuff and Maud is pretty, Raffaela and Floortje are pretty and so is Nikki. Also question for Cheezy how do you say Floortje? As for the videos I give you Floortje Smit's cover of Carrie's "Starts With Goodbye" and Jamai on the Netherlands Dancing With The Stars: How is he doing on DWTS Cheezy? I know Jim won the first season of the show so it'd be funny if Jamai also won. |

well here are some X factor goodies from the most recent diva-centric season, including the elusive Purple Rain.
here first is early front runner coming into the finals, Diana Vickers, who i believe crashed and burned at the end. This was one of her best performances during Disco week of all themes... Ruth Lorenzo - Purple Rain |

now X Factor was dominated by females in 2008, one of the front runners coming into the finals was Laura White and here's why...

Divas hate but I'll check out the videos later anyway since I'm a junkie, lol.

Okay the "With or Without" title caught my eye and I decided to watch. U2 is my favo band and "With or Without You" is my favo song of all
time.
She looks familiar, I think I watched one of her performances before and I've defo heard of her around the net. You're right, she's not a diva. Diana <3 I'm going to watch all those other videos. Love her voice. Does she have a CD? |

she probably will have a cd, she was a huge deal on X Factor, the tabloids were going nuts about her. She was basically their Adam Lambert in terms of
attention garnered.
fun fact: she was actually excused from competing in Mariah Carey Week due to a severe case of laryngitis. She would have sung "Always Be My Baby". She advanced to the following week.

So how did it work? She just got a free pass to the next week or people voted for her despite not performing.
|
|||
survivorjordancontestant |

she got a free pass, she was pulled out only hours before the show because the doctors warned that she would inflict permanent damage to her vocal chords had
she went on. I think the producers ultimately decided to not let her sing.

Interesting. Were people angry she got a free pass to the next round?

some people were, even going so far as to question the validity of her illness since they showed a video of her screaming and drinking earlier that week during
a party.
the following weeks it was clear she was still sick and never really got back up to her old self and her front runner status was taken by previous underdog Alexandra Burke (who started off as a diva whom the judges encouraged to switch it up) who started owning the dance pop thing. Her sing off with Ruth which got Ruth eliminated, and her own eventual vote off just one round shy of the finale ended what many thought would be an all-girl finale. |

Interesting.
I wish Canada would get this X-Factor deal. |

Cheezy wtf is that first video you posted. It's the guy who came in 7th in the latest German Idol season. I know, it's hilarious. Oh and sorry, I forgot to mention that over here, the contestants get styling advise from Scott MacIntyre! Also question for Cheezy how do you say Floortje? Floor-chuh.
He actually got full marks from all the judges last saturday: three 10's! I haven't watched it yet though, I only know how they ended up in the ranking this week. Nathalie (Idols season 4 runner-up) is on the show too and doing really well! Who knows, it might end up being an ex-Idol contestants finale because a lot of people who you'd think would do well have already been voted out. Also I have come to the conclusion that the Netherlands is full of pretty people, I have yet to see a really ugly Dutch Idol contestant Hmm. Here you go (not a really clear video though).
Uhm. Oh and I'm going to post one more clip from Idols 2 (the season that the sexilicious Boris won), this is the girl who got Tamyra'd: Irma - Takes my breath away. Absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. She now works at a restaurant somewhere in my town, or so I've heard.

Well way to prove me wrong. I guess just the ones who get near the top in the Netherlands are attractive and talented.
For today's Idol of the day we're going to go way back to the original season of Pop Idol again. Today's Idol is a female from that season, and 1 quarter of one of the greatest F4's in Idol history. ZOE BIRKETT Zoe was on the first season of Idol ever and one of the foreign Idol seasons I've actually seen in it's entirety. A couple of years ago I was determined to watch the entire first season of Pop Idol so I downloaded every episode. The F4 as I mentioned is one of the best F4's in Idol history, Will, Gareth, Darius and Zoe are all just so lovely and talented. I was very impressed and I adore all 4 of them and it has never happened again that I've liked all 4 contestants in an Idol Top 4. Zoe was also Idol's first "ZOMG ONLY 16!!111" contestant.
Zoe's Pop Idol performance of "Power of Love" and her post Idol song "Treat Me Like A Lady." |

Zoe Birkett was the very first Idol contestant that ever caught my attention. Sure Will and Garreth are hawt hawt hawt and I'd love to see them get it on
with each other, but I really thought Zoe was the more talented vocalist of the bunch.
Either way, I totally agree with shc about that top 4 being one of the best top 4's ever. I was happy to see any of them win. It's a shame Pop Idol 2 had such crap compared to the first. Michelle McFatus will never compare to any of the first season's top 4. ... I was a Sam fan. *ducks* |

I didn't even watch Pop Idol 2 because of all the bad stuff I heard about it. Is it true Waterman walked out when Michelle won?
Zoe probably could have won/gone a little further if Will, Gareth and Darius were less attractive. The fangirls were probably all over all three of them. They're all drool worthy to the max and talented to boot. On a slightly unrelated note I didn't know Gareth got married last Summer. His wife apparently had a baby in April. Awww.

Finally I have some spare time to check out all the videos suckshardcore has posted of all the different Idols. So I'm going to watch them one by one and
comment on the ones that stand out for me (positive or negative or whatever) and edit this post as I go along.
First: holy hot banana on a pretzel, that is one GORGEOUS rendition of With or Without You by those Norwegian folks. I needs me an mp3 of that. fun fact, Espen Lind co-wrote a few of the songs on David Cook's album, including the current single "Come Back To Me Get outta here. I remember this one song of his, 'When Susanna cries', from 1997 it was I think. I remember a friend of mine bought his debut album and talked about how he's so amazing but he never really had any hits here besides the Susanna song. And I never listened to his album. Because the Susanna-song, to me, was a bit whiney. But still, hell? Espen/David Cook: random! Love it. I'm going to go to the next batch of videos. OHHH I see Guy Sebastian's Climb every Mountain, yay! I'd forgotten about it but I'd had it on my mp3 player forever back in the day and I'm not kidding when I say that I cried a few times when hearing it at first. In a good. way. Edit I: HOLY CRAP WHO LET GAVIN FRIGGIN' ROSSDALE IN CANADIAN IDOL <3 Leave it to Canada to invite totally awesome people. Oh and the CI clips remind me how much I love the accent and how much I miss those 4 judges and how much of a skeeveball Ben Mulroney is. Hey where did that other knucklehead go? Did they get rid of him after CI2? I think CI2 was the first and only season I watched, front to back. The one with Jacob Hoggard and that curly little Kalangel Porter. Oh and Wiebe. <3 Okay back to watching. This is going to be a long post. Edit II: Alright maybe it's the song or maybe it's the fact that he's of Dutch descent (is that how you spell it?) or maybe it's just. Theo. but I loved that Weak in the Knees performance. Never heard the song before. Loved that. Edit III: The video survivorjordancontestant posted, by Carly Rae Jepson - At Seventeen. At first I was like "okay, lot of mumbling" but then I got it, she's got a lovely tone of voice and emoted that song really well. Loved that! What's funny is that I'm googling the contestants afterwards since I've never heard of them, so I can find out a little more, how they ended up and stuff. Huh. I didn't know Guy Sebastian isn't gay. Edit IV: I find myself being constantly underwhelmed by the performances of the female contestants with the power voices. This has probably less to do with my personal taste and more to do with the fact that I am STILL punishing myself by re-watching AI3 and my ears are still ringing (fyi, if you re-watch that season? Fantasia turns out to be quite funny. And I can't believe J-Hud was in the bottom 3 almost every single time). Edit V: I like Ricki-Lee Coulter's tone of voice, too. Why is she hated? Oh and I think she looks like Bikini Girl. So I hate her too. FUCK RICKI-LEE you witch. Edit VI: this is taking me a lifetime to get through, this topic's videos. So I'm going to admit something: as soon as I lose interest in a video, I stop watching it. Most of the videos I manage to watch halfway, some I watch in full. Some I start watching, I appreciate them, until some whispery whiney voiced madam called Natalie Tosslewosslewaithe or whatever comes on and ruins it. (by the way, I apologize if I insulted any country's pride and joy without me knowing it. I'm merely judging by the one clip I see of them) Shannon Noll's voice, I like it. But [Kara]here's the thing[/Kara]: in order to get through the video, I need to not fall asleep because of the song. And quite frankly, the songs I listened to were kinda middle-of-the-road for me and so I search for some Noll clips on youtube from his Idol days but there were none. Boo. Because a good song combined with a great voice gets the full-time watching treatment from me. Plus, I need to hurry a bit because in 50 minutes' time, the finale of the Apprentice will be on the BBC.
