I liked it. I laughed at a few moments, and I think the premise works well as a backdrop to the actual plotlines, giving a unique spin on classic sitcom
situations while still giving plenty of fodder for cheap jokes at the expense of extreme liberals. That they can mock the Goodes' attitudes and beliefs
while still making them likable characters is good writing. I'll definitely be sticking around for awhile.

All new shows need time to set up the characters and situations. They are almost never as funny at the very beginning as when they reach their stride.
I laughed a lot during it, like all the parts Sloan mentioned. The guilt board at the supermarket was too funny. And I ended up liking the characters, which is important. The language was strong, but liberals will throw anything out there, so it's accurate. Preceding a Bob Sagat show definitely doesn't mean it will be wholesome... most definitely.

It was better than I thought it would be. Definitely not a laugh riot.
Like King of the Hill, the mother was less centered than the dad. |

Football episode sucked. There was so much more they could have done with it. The community college subplot was a total miss.
The animal thing was semi funny. Anything that makes fun of PETA is OK by me. |

I liked moments of the football ep, but overall weak. The animal rescue one was funny. Two episodes out of three with bulldykes.

I really wanted to like it... I figured, by his 3rd series Judd would produce something I would like, but no... I just find something depressive about his
characters and the worlds they inhabit...

I missed the first episode, but caught the next two the other night.
Very Funny! Its great to see someone with the balls to puncture the overinflated liberal environmental Al Gore crowd. Huge comedy mine there. I'm hoping this show does well, its a great subject, White guilt hypocritical liberals. South Park has done a great job to date, good to see Mike Judge doing this. And, if you are a liberal and can't take it, seriously...suck it....after all the terrible shows bashing all that is not liberal, this is a shot of fresh air. |

King of the Hill took a few episodes to find its groove and Goode Family certainly is off to a reasonably good start, even if it's not totally impressive.
Definitely worth keeping up with though. The ratings aren't too strong though.

Think it's been moved to Fridays. Certainly not a good sign.

It's all right, but the jokes are such broad siders -- the bulldykes? Come on, really? No lesbian looks like that in this day and age, that was kind of a
'90s look. And the football thing was just kind of there, but not really how I'd expect this particular family to handle it. Try harder.

I have been finding it it very enjoyable. But I do not trust ABC to give a show a fair chance.

Wow, I caught the pilot of this a couple weeks ago and thought it was absolutely terrible. I thought everyone here would be ripping it to shreds...
Not a single laugh. Too exaggerated and forced. No interesting characters. |

The fact that it pokes fun at liberals means that the fringe right doesn't feel the need to clamor for actual quality.

I think this show came out at a bad time. Between the Christian Taliban and Birthers et al, liberals these days look downright normal and decent.

With that said, I really don't care for this show. The dad's voice amuses me, I guess and I did like the joke about The View otherwise its seems so unoriginal. The worst part about the show is when they were discussing what to call black people which has been done at least 8 times before. |

Having hired my fair share of brown people to do yardwork, I have to admit to laughing my ass off at tonight's show.
