Club - check.
No high heels - check. Passport - check. Sad but true - Total list of states I had visited by age 25 : Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, California, New Mexico (just driving through from UT to NV though.) What about Money - Just use a credit card? Or do I need travelers checks and Canadian cash? |

I live in Montreal (downtown). Don't bring travelers cheques; they're useless. Just come here knowing that 50% of the population here speaks a
different language. Show the french no attitude, and you'll be fine. I'm 95% anglophone, and the only times I've pissed off the french people is
when I get pissy with them.

Credit card works. Depending on your buying activities, it might help to stop and change a few hundred when you get there. And dont crack wise to the security
people there. They dont like that.

If you use a credit card they're going to charge you a percentage for the conversion (it's not enough for us to bother with extra cash though). They
won't know what a Discover card is so make sure you have a visa or MasterCard (they may have not taken both everywhere I remember something odd about
that). You can get cash at an ATM when you get to the hotel or airport.

Say "Sacrebleu!" A LOT.
Especially to the nuns. They love that sort of thing. Also say to any hockey fan "Je déteste le Canadiens." |

lol... no one says that anymore. Instead, try using a variety of
(a) pute (b) salop (c) chris (d) merde (e) collis that should get some heads turning. |

I've been to Montreal only once in my life and I'll always remember a Canadian friend of mine saying "If your French isn't very good then
don't attempt to speak it because they'll just make fun of you." So I just spoke English in a quiet, not-very-loud tone, smiled a lot and acted
not like a demanding tourist but a gracious visitor and everything turned out just fine.
