Bad Lieutenant has been on my favorite 5 movies list of all time, since the day I saw it.

Here is my current gripe against this apparent disaster in the making.

1.) Werner Herzog is a fucking asshole, he said he never saw Bad Lieutenant. Which to me, means he is an asshat. It is "the" singular work of art in American cop movies.

Um No LA Confidential, and then maybe The Untouchables, Tombstone, Unforgiven, Serpico, Heat, etc.

2.) You have Nicolas Cage and Val Kilmer in this film, and you have Cage play the destructive and tormented lead??? What fucking planet did I land on.

Nicolas Cage is the last B-Actor left standing, everyone else who could have played this role or would have played this role went to TV.


3.) They are claiming this is not a remake (when they say that, it usually sucks ass)

Remakes tend not to be "great" but they also tend to be better then "orignal ideas" they are rarely terrible for every Halloween(which I liked) their are House on Haunted Hill, Ben Hur, Mutiny on the Bounty, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Man who knew to much, King Kong, The Hills have Eyes, 310 to Yuma etc etc etc

4.) Herzog says it is a new form/style of film noir. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRADITIONAL FORM OF FILM NOIR, ADOLPH!!!

Film Noir has no traditional style, its innovative by nature and from what I saw in the trailer Herzog is going for a blend of Tarintinoesque speed and cuts with Lynch romantism and dream style at the very worst its going to play out like a Denzel Washington Noir film such as Out of Time
