All I had really heard about Erin prior to Thailand was that she was a tranny. So my impression of her while watching the season wasn't disappointment, it was, "Um, well, she looks kinda hot to me."

I don't really remember my expectations of the Amazon cast, although it was my first real season and I totally knew everything about it before it began airing (including the boot order, thanks to spoilers ). I was rooting for Rob as the nerd who might be able to play a really awesome game, and he lived up to expectations. I suppose Christy disappointed me, since I expected her to be a likable underdog and instead she was just whiny and annoying. And I thought Daniel would be much better than he ended up being, simply because he had been on a reality TV show before, so I assume he had some good entertainment value going for him. Oh, and I thought Dave would be a great player as an alpha male rocket scientist. Lawl.

For PI, Osten was definitely the most disappointing, as I thought he would be a really interesting, dominant character after watching his audition video. He was OTT, but in a very bad way. I expected way more from Ryan S, so he was disappointing as well.
I guess in a way, Savage was a disappointment for me. He was my pre-show pick for a winner, and I was convinced he'd be my favorite from the season. He ended up crashing and burning, but to this day, I like him more than most Sucksters do, and I think he brought some pretty good stuff to the table.
Michelle was not disappointing at all. She was exactly what you could expect from her. She was always going to be overshadowed by the personalities of the Drake tribe (Jon and Rupert and Shawn and Christa and Sandra oh my!), duh.
