Jolanda Jones Was there anyone with a more fucked up bio than Jolanda?? It sounded like the script of an Oscar winning movie. It made her look like the most interesting castaway in the history of Survivor before the season even began. Although to be fair, a lot of castaways had interesting bios and ended up being complete duds, but it didn't seem to be the case with jolanda, but she seemed to have personality coming out of all her orifices of her body on top of it. She had the obligatory feistiness of your typical black chick, plus the messed up life experience that we assumed turned her into a worrior, because let's face it, most people with that kind of life would've either ended up being complete mental cases, heroine junkies or just flat out killed themselves. But all that potential was swiftly taken away from us, when Jolanda unexpectedly became the first boot. All the feistiness, all the sob stories, Jolanda becoming an American hero.......never meant to be. She went back home merely adding yet another sucky moment on her resume |

Willard Smith A golden rule of Survivor is that when you're the token old guy, you fall into either one of two categories. Category A) The nice, fatherly guy whom everyone loves or B) The grumpy narrow-minded guy whom is usually disliked by his younger peers. Willard was a completely new category of old guy: The youth-complexed scheeming type. It was so refreshing to hear. Finally an old dude who wasn't afraid to lie and play the game rather than being true to himself like all the other old guys before him. Willard's first game move was to tell people he was a mailman even though he was a lawyer. It sounded so promising and made us wonder where he would go from there. Within the first few seconds of the opening, he showed himself to be outspoken by saying he wanted to knock Wanda off the boat with his oar. He seemed physically fit for his age on top of all. But all of this was a lie. Willard was not a gamer, scheemer and sure as hell not a physical asset. He was completely shafted by the editing and got booted for being a liability. The worst part is that when he knew he was on the chopping block, he didn't put up a fight at all and just accepted it, wondering around like he was Eeor. He was not only a letdown, but a total downer as well. It was actually depressing to watch his story arch. |

Did we skip ASS? I guess Wyl didn't want to type up a write-up for every member of the cast.
(For the record, I think the only people who didn't disappoint me in All-Stars were Romber, Hatch, Jerri, and Ethan. Maybe Lex too.) Agreed that Brady was very disappointing. FBI agent seemed like a very cool profession. I didn't expect much from Dolly, though. She was the super sweet, naive girl you had to know you would be getting. Brooke disappointed me by being the first boot, despite being the super fan of the group (and a super fan with athletic prowess and the ability to connect with the jock mentality, on top of that). I had high hopes for my pre-show winner Ami, but she totally delivered. I probably expected more from Chad, but I don't really remember. I figured Jolanda would be obnoxious, but yeah, never expected someone with her background to be knocked out so early. I still remember her mile-long bio compared to everyone else's two-paragraph history. I also thought Willard would be great, but we got nothing out of him. How sad. I'd include Jonathan, since his cancer survivor storyline for some reason made me assume he'd be our likable alpha male. Yeah, that didn't pan out. But Coby was probably the biggest disappointment of Palau. After the first episode, it seemed he would be our star strategist and gamer. Nope. |

I don't think it was Willard that was disappointing, just his edit was. The guy did a lot of crazy shit (like faking a heat stroke to get water from
production), and it was just the editors that left it all out

Jones largely credits her success to her tumultuous childhood. When she was 13 months old, her father committed suicide while she was in the room. Her mother had four more children, and Jones became their primary caretaker while their mother worked. There were times when the family went without water, electricity or heat. When Jones was a teenager, their rented house burned down due to the use of candles in place of electricity. Two of her uncles committed suicide, her aunt was murdered and various members of her family are in prison and on welfare. Jones credits her criticizing mother and supportive grandmother for teaching her to be the best and stand up for the poor and disenfranchised.... oh my god. |

Jolanda also helped pull a girl out of a burning car last year. A true hero and inspiration. <3
If you think you know hardship, go read Jolanda's bio. |

Cindy Hall Cindy was very interesting pre-show. Unlike many young recent girls on the show, she didn't look like a Californian mactress model princess. She looked quite athletic, tough as nails and someone who could do very well in this game. Of course my biggest fear is that she would be yet another editing shaft and God knows a lot of young women on Guatemala were. Turns out that no. Cindy went really far in the game and got a decent edit. The problem was that she was utterly pointless. Cindy was always on the outside looking in during her stay. Which granted can be really interesting sometimes, but not in her case. She was never a swing vote, nor was she really a player period. She just followed people blindly and we knew that would eventually lead to her demise. As far as her personality goes, yeah she seemed somewhat nice but we really never saw any depth, nothing interesting. And yes, even her twin Cindy outshined her eventually. |

Bobby Mason Yeah, the only entry on this list who also made my favo castways of all times list. Kind of odd. Bob Dawg just had so much potential. He looked like a legit tough guy and he is, he actually looked like he could be Survivor's greatest badass. But unlike most badasses, he wasn't some blue collared construction worker or something, he was an attorney. Is there a cooler combination than someone who's a total tattooed, muscled badass, but has a high standing career and is educated as well? We also saw on episode 1 that Bobby was clever and quote-worthy, as we saw on his blogs after the show. But like many others who had great potential, he got the editing shaft for some reason and was booted off too early. Now this part however I unfortunately place the blame on him. I mean, being strong as an ox and quiet should be the ultimate combination on Survivor. So how the hell did he mess this up? I think he just didn't care and that's what was disapointing about him. He just needed more fire, but alas he didn't have it in him. |

Cindy was NOT disappointing. She was a sweet animal lover who was fucked by dumbassery.
I wouldn't say BobDawg was disappointing as much as Danielle really took control to take out her biggest threat. It was just a testament to Danielle that he completely bombed out of the game. |

Becky Lee Like 90% of straight men, I've always had a thing for Asian women. When I first saw Becky, I immidiately picked her as the winner and was hoping she'd be the cold, calculated, smart Asian chick who would PWN the game. I kinda got my way since Becky did end up going all the way to the end, but it just ALL wrong. Becky turned out to be Survivor's biggest non-entity ever. I haven't exactly calculated it, but I'm pretty sure she holds the record for the least amount of editing vs. duration in the game ratio. It was so bad, that she sorta became iconic on Sucks because of her non-edit. Everytime we start a new thread dissing the Survivor people, some smart ass will always leave post completely blank relating to Becky. I honestly think quiet women are hot, because the non-need for attention is usually a sign of great confidence in a woman and that's a huge turn on for me. But Becky overdid it. Now you can blame the editors for whoring Ozzy and Yul, thus hiding Becky or you can blame Burnett's sexist ways that he didn't wanna show us a smart women holding her own against two brawny men, but the fact remains that she was never shown to us, so obviously Becky had nothing to offer. |
