And folks earning up to 150% of the poverty line will have reduced purchasing power offset costs deposited directly into their bank accounts on a monthly basis. Oh sure it may sound like a new welfare program but it's really a way for the government to transfer wealth and invest in poor people since the war on poverty never really seemed to do the trick. But what really impresses me are monetary awards for people who develop technologies that break the laws of physics. I think if paople could actually invent non-polluting/free energy sources they'd make a lot more money selling the energy than trying to get the award, but I digress. There's also research money in the bill to help people break the laws of physics. I think I'll be applying for some of those grants. It should be easy to slip one past the politicians because in the bill they even confuse the words efficacy and efficiency, when it comes to defining the efficiency of lamps in lumens per watt. As long as the Senate passes this thing I should be able to keep myself in the gubbermint gravy train.

But at the rate Obama has been pushing through truly horrendous bills, I'm upping the estimate to 4 or 5 Senate seats and 20-25 House seats. That should be enough to put the fear of their constituents into the Dem House "moderates" and give them the courage to tell Nancy and Obama to fuck off. Unfortunately, the worst of the damage will have already been done. Obama seems to have learned from what happened to Clinton, and understands there will be a voter backlash in 2010 and 2012, so he's pushing through so much stuff that it will take any conservative dominated Congress years (or even decades) to undo the damage he'll have done in a single year. What I'm looking for next year is a reverse of what happened in 2006 with the House and Senate. Then in 2012 as it becomes abundantly clear that Obama and his policies are even worse for the country than Carter's were, a repeat of 1980 in the Presidential race and a repeat of 1994 in the congressional races.
