I think they want a quick appointment so that they have as many votes as possible for ObamaCare.
Not sayin it's not sleazy, it's just probably not fear on their part.

I don't think they're all that afraid of special elections. The chances that a pub would be elected to fill the seat are about the same as the chances
Obama has of winning in 2012.

How many leftists/liberals in this forum have declared that racism is the primary reason for the anti-healthcare movement?

You didn't need to actually declare it. We can hear it in everything you say. Much as Maureen Dowd so magnificently noted that we all
'heard' "boy" after Joe Wilson's "You lie!" outburst.

SOA's Obama Hate Thread Thought of the Day:
Libs are always saying that Cons are so "GREEEEEDY!" because they've worked hard for what they have and want to keep it. Yet the libs are the ones that want the government to take care of their every need because they aren't able to. They're the ones that want MORE and MORE handed to them. WHO ARE THE GREEDY ONES NOW, BITCHES?!? I hope that hurt, btw. |

Who knew that you could make something profitable by simply passing a law? Unfortunately the profit comes at the expense of additional costs to consumers, but hey, don't sweat the details. |

Katie Couric looked like she'd been forced to suck on a turd tonight after having to report on Obama's ineffectiveness, Rangel's tax evasion, and
Glenn Beck's popularity.
I chortled. |

How about some goddaman fairness for a change. How about giving something back to the hard working people in this country who bust their asses and get nothing to show for it, while the rich people sit back and collect their trust fund checks, their interest money, their dividends, etc. Why should the CEO of a company make $50 million while the people who are the backbone of his company, the low level employees who do actual work and keep things running, can't even afford to see a mother fucking doctor if they get sick. Republicans are a bunch of sociopaths. |

How the fuck is a $50million salary considered "average" even by the standards of the "rich?" The liberal definition of "rich"
seems to be $250k, and the average person making that amount of money worked his/her ass off to get that far. The VAST majority of those folks aren't trust
fund babies. They're just educated, hard-working people who had to climb the ladder just like anybody else who expects to get paid.
So why the fuck should they be punished for success? |

You should try working less and making more money. Lemme know how that works out for ya.

Republicans are a bunch of sociopaths. The average poor person in "society" works harder than the average rich person? Really? Is that how the liberal mind works? At little life lessson for you, dave. FAIR does not mean equal. FAIR means you get what you work for, what you EARN. Life lesson two, life is not FAIR. Some people are trust fund babies, some people are custodians. The custodian may be a much harder worker than the trust fund baby. Does that mean that the trust fund kid should have to spend his inheritance to pay for the custodians healthcare? Unless you are very young, I can't imagine your answer being yes. If your answer is yes, then you would probably be very happy in a communist country and should consider relocation. And that is great if it makes you happy. But this country is built on capitalistic philosophy. Everyone has the same opportunities. Think about the people who come to this country with 12 dollars and a poor grasp on the language and become very successful business owners. If you have the drive, you can make whatever you want to make. And if a company has a CEO making "50 million dollars" the employees have major medical and can afford to go to the doctor. In fact pretty much any fulltime job in this country that is legit provides health insurance. Why do you want rich people to give some money "back" to you? That implies you had some prior claim on it. It was never in any way remotely yours. Thus they should not have to give it back. |
