So, I popped for that Cambridge Audio CD player.
While I was waiting for it to arrive I stumbled across a bunch of articles written by cork sniffing audiophile types about how the original Sony Playstation is the best kept secret in hi-fi audio and is actually a better CD player than units costing thousands of dollars.
I pulled my old PS1 out of the basement and hooked it up.
Holy fucking shit....they were right.
I took the Pepsi Challenge with my new semi-spendy player and the beat up old PS1. Dammit it if the Playstation didn't sound better.
Crazy.......I'm sending the CD player back.
