I'd like to ask for prayers for my friend ****** and his father.
He was a minister at a church in southern Missouri. He left his wife of 30+ years and ran off with the church secretary to Houston about a year ago. ******, understandably, had a very hard time forgiving his father for this. Apparently, the girlfriend left, and he began to realize what he had thrown away. On Father's Day, he sent a text-message to ******saying, "send someone to get my body." ******called Houston police to check on him; he was still alive. So, ******came to Houston to find a place for his father to restore his faith and what is left of his life. He is headed to a minister's retreat in Colorado for what amounts to inpatient counseling.
Please pray for healing and restoration for his father, his family and their faith. This has shaken their belief in a God that will allow one of His shepherds to go astray.

It's funny - ******* is an internet friend. We've never met face-to-face, only via the internet and phone. Still, I consider him to be one of my best friends. And when he hurts during this trial, I hurt right along with him. We were unable to meet during his trip to Houston this week. He's planning to come back and move his father's stuff to storage closer to home. I hope we can find a chance to MIRL (meet in real life)!
