Remove this ad Well I recently noticed I was crawling towards 1000 posts so I started thinking about some things to Rank. I've been through ranking the reality casts one at a time (which I may still do) but i'm going to hold off on that for now. I also thought about ranking the Friday the 13th Deaths (which again I still plan to do) but when I realied there were so many and I haven't seen some of the movies in a while I figured it's best to wait. I also want to rank Scream characters, Skins Generation 1 and 2 characters, among other ideas. I'm gonna take a few hours to decide what I want to start ranking (probably starting small and working towards bigger things) Not sure if i'm supposed to ask to start a ranking thread but since i'm now at 1000, i'm going for it..if this gets locked and deleted..well at least i'll know my 1000th post will be moving on to a better place. There are 33 main characters in the Scream series (since i'm ranking all three movies) and there will be one honorable mention. I'm in the middle of ranking them right now and will hopefully have some write ups before the end of the night. There will be some spoilers for those of you who have not seen the Scream Trilogy (though i'm sure there are not many of you) so you may want to avoid this ranking.

First i'm going to introduce the honorable mention who althought not an actualy character is probably the most recognizable face in the scream series. Here is the one the only, Ghostface! Unofficial #34 - Ghostface the Scream Killer Quote: "Do you wanna die tonight, Sidney (Blondie, Cici, Randy, Sarah, etc)" I'm sure you all recognize this guy as screams resident slasher (and Scary Movie, I'll always know what you did last friday the 13th, and all the other spoofs of Scream). He likes to call up unsuspecting victims and torment them before showing up and chopping them to pieces. To date we've seen him slice up 25+ people (and then some if you include the spoofs) and walk away unharmed other than the odd bump or two from someone fighting back. Five people have worn the suit of Ghostface that we know of (all of which will be ranked in this thread). So the unoffical #34 on the list goes to the man with a sexy phone voice, Mr Ghostface.. Now onto the real rankings! 33. Maureen Prescott (Scream 1 and 3) Status: Raped and murdered off screen, prior to the Scream Trilogy. Quote: "Everything you touch dies, Sid" (something along those lines while she shows up at Sidney's window in a dream) I went back and forth on whether or not to include Maureen in the rankings because technically she isn't ever seen alive in the movies. In the original she is nothing more than a picture and a backstory. We learn she is the Final Girl, Sidney's mother who was raped and murdered exactly one year prior to the events in the movie. We're lead to believe Sid's boyfriend and friend did the deed, only to find out it was actually Sidney's biological brother that was behind it!!111!1!1! (who shows up in the 3rd movie, Sid having had no idea who he was until that point). She is sort of featured in the 3rd movie in all of Sidney's craziness. She shows up at a window (which is really kinda creepy actually) and tells Sid everything she touches turns to shit (which is mostly true). In the end I put her on the list because, although only mentioned and showing up in dreams she is still one of the main Scream characters, and she earned her spot as #33 on the list. ..1 1/2 down, 32 to go...(i'm gonna post 2 at a time) Next 2 Spoiler [+] - An older character - Someone from Scream 2 Last Edited By: SurvivorNinja 07/09/09 03:21 PM. Anyway, on to the next 2 so we can get to an even top 30. 32. Neil Prescott (Scream 1 and 3) Status: Alive Quote: "I thought I heard screaming" (after Sid screams when Billy sneaks in her window and hides behind her bed) Neil is really kind of a lame character. I should probably have listed him before his wife because even though he has more screen time, her character has more of an impact on the trilogy. He appears in the beginning and end of the original movie. It was set up so you think he is a suspect but I found it hard to believe. I had actually forgotten about him several times until he showed up again at the end as Billy and Stu's hostage. He lamely disappears again when Sid and Gale save the day only to burst through a door at the very end. In the third movie he has a small cameo showing up at Sidney's house in the woods. He tells her not to keep hiding and pretending she isn't who she is (which shows he obviously wants his daughter dead). Overall he just really sucked but I guess he was a necessary character. I ranked him over Ms Prescott because he was an innocent victim, where as she was a complete whore. 31. Officer Andrews (Scream 2) Status: Throat Slashed Quote: "Don't ask, don't tell" (right inbetween Hallie asking where they are going and him getting his neck cut the fuck up) He didn't really talk much so I couldn't think of a better quote. He and his partner were given the deed of keeping resident killer magnet Sidney Prescott safe from harm. We didn't really learn much about him other than he got stuck with a shitty job and was possibly gay. I rank him this low because he wasn't really much of a character, didn't have a very epic death, and no moments from him that I really enjoyed. I've only ever seen the first two, though. Don't remember any of the characters that have been ranked so far. But they (the first two, anyway) have likeable characters being terrorised by a killer, and some really intense chase scenes. So Scream is scary, even if it is a spoof. I choose to believe the third Scream didn't exist, it was such a massive let-down compared to the first two. Especially the way they tried to rewrite what happened in the first two films with her lame-o half brother. So although there were some alright characters in it, I hope the majority at the top are from the first two films. Tatum/Cici/Mama Crazy Eyes Loomis FTW. I'm thinking this is the last update for me today since i'm about to buckle down for dinner along with Big Brother followed by Harper's Island. oh and Level Banks, you got one right and one wrong. The next 2 on the list are... 30. John Milton (Scream 3) Status: Throat Slashed Quote: "You don't have to do this, Roman! Just tell me what you want, I can make anything happen! Any picture, name your budget, script approval, final cut!" (said to Roman second before having his throat slashed by him) John Milton was quite boring and forgettable. He's a horror movie producer and when Sid's mom snuck away to Hollywood under a secret alias, she was an actress in some of his movies (this all happens decades before the events in Scream 3). While in Hollywood and sort of under Milton's wing, she slept with other movie producers, etc, for roles in their movies..leading to her being pregnant with Roman and abandoning him. So really if it weren't for this old prick and Sidney's slutty mom, 20+ people would still be alive. I thought about ranking him highed based on the fact that I like Lance Henriksen, who is something of a horror legend (Aliens, and many others). I decided that I disliked his character so much and his death was really nothing special so his "celebrity" status had near no affect on my rankings. A lot of the Scream 3 characters were kinda lame..which brings me to... 29. Christine (Scream 3) Status: Stabbed in the Back Quote: "You know I don't like your stab games Cotton!" So props to Cotton first of all because while she is extremely dull and whiney (granted whiney while being attacked by a knife weilding killer, but whiney nonetheless) she is also very good looking, imo (and i'm gay if you can't tell by my avatar (and my being a male on this site), but i'd still bang her)..anyway...since she is so incredibly lame most of her write up has been about my sexuality... I also put her this low because she attacked Cotton when he came home, who was so clearly innocent. I mean, damn..this isn't Scream 1 bitch...your not Sidney and your boyfriend is not the killer..show Cotton a little respect, amiright? Her chase scene was not nearly as good as some of the others in the series, her death was repeated three times in scream 3 alone and other than being pretty and having a shower scene, her only claim to fame is being Cotton borewhore girlfriend. -- That brings us to the top 28 just in time for me to fuck off and go find me some dinner! Plus, its expansive enough to offer a generous array of characters yet not so crowded that we forget characters easily. Jennifer has to win. Most epic Scream character EVER! Spoiler [+] - Someone with Steve in their name (there are several characters with it incorporated into their names) Casey's boyfriend from the original. He did nothing really, other than being the first onscreen (somewhat) death. - A Survivor from at least one of the movies. Phil. Gale's mildly funny, mostly boring cameraman from Scream 2.

Myopics you got one right and one wrong. so onto the next 2. 28. Steve Orth (Scream) Status: Beaten Up and Gutted Quote: (muffled) "Casey, noooooo" Steve got kind of a raw deal. His girlfriend broke up with one half of a psychopathic duo to start dating poor Steve. One night he was on his way to her house to enjoy a scary movie, only to be jumped, beaten and tied to a chair in Casey Becker's yard. He seemed pretty level headed, calling in vain for his girlfriend not to play these stupid games but due to her fucking up who the killer in the original "Friday the 13th" movie was, Stevo had to die. I put him above several others for several reasons. He is the first on screen death in the Scream series and it's a pretty brutal way to go. I felt bad for the guy when Casey answered the question wrong and I knew he was gonna get it. If Steve was my boyfriend he'd still be alive right now..yeah, that's right! I'm not putting him any higher than his though (which I actually thought about doing) because he had such a small part and near no lines other than "casey, no" so since the characters above him entertained me more..buy bye Steve. 27. Det. Mark Kincaid (Scream 3) Status: Alive Quote: "All I know is that in the third one, all bets are off" (in respose to Sidney's question about movie trilogies) I should probably have put this guy higher due to the fact he is not only a Survivor, but did have a pretty big role in the third movie. I found him to be incredibly dry and dull throughout though. I think the writers tried to make him a little cryptic so you'd half assedly expect him to be the killer, but it just didn't work. I ended up just feeling put off by him since he never seemed like the killer to me, and I didn't like his broodish attitude. Everything they did with his guy was half assed. They implied he had some interest in Sidney romantically (or so it seemed) but nothing was ever done about it. They implied he'd be a hero only for Sidney to fight the killer and Dewey/Gale to save the day (Kincaid did nothing but get knocked out). I just really didn't like the guy, and it didn't help his case that he survived. Had he died (even in a shitty, lame way) i'd probably put him up a bit higher than this. --- 26 more to go (and 5 honorable mentions) Next 2... Spoiler [+] - A Stab Actor from Scream 3 - Another Steve character and one honorable mention from the Stab cast.

Anyway first i'll list one of the remaining 5 honorable mentions... * Stab Casey (Scream 2) Status: Dies in the movie Stab Quote: "I don't even know you, and I dislike you already" (mimicing what happened to Casey in Scream) Heather Graham played herself, playing Casey from the original Scream. She is in the opening scene from Scream 2 when Phil and Maureen go to see the Stab movie in theaters (and meet their demise). It's kind of neat in that her death scene and Maureen's happen at the same time but other than that she is a cheep rip off of Casey and nothing super special. onto the real ranks again!! 26. Steven Stone (Scream 3) Status: Beaten with a frying pan and stabbed in the back Quote: "Just checkin' out your tin can dewdrop, makin' sure there's no killer in here waiting to off you like he did your lil' sister" (While on the phone to the killer who he thinks is Dewey and checking out Dewey's trailer) This is Jennifer's bodyguard who I actually liked quite a bit. He was more of a background character overall I suppose. His main function was protecting Jennifer and taking jabs at Dewey. I liked his character quite a bit but could not put him any higher based on how crappy he is at his job. While wandering around outside Jennifer's house (which was occupied by several of the main characters) he is attacked inside Dewey's trailer (which is situated in the front yard of Jennifer's house) and puts up such a shit fight that he kind of sucks. In Stone's defence there wasn't much room in the trailer to move around (and Stone was a pretty big guy) but several of the smaller female characters (not trying to be sexist, just comparing sizes) faught back and even got in a couple blows on Mr Ghostface. Stone got smashed up with a frying pan and stabbed in the back only to stumble out to the front door of Jennifer's house where the gang sees him and realizes something is up...bringing me to.... 25. Tom Prinze (Scream 3) Status: Blown up inside Jennifer's house Quote: "The killer will grant mercy to...the one who smells the gas!" (said while reading a note faxed from the killer as he lights his lighter, blowing him up) Right after Stone dies, the gang runs back inside and the power goes out. They all freak out and run around trying to figure out what to do. The killer starts faxing them telling them what is happening (Stone dead, power out, 5 victims inside waiting to be killed). They all run outside as one last fax comes through, Tom runs back inside, tries to read it, lights his ligher and BOOM. Tom is actually mostly this high because his death was pretty neat..no one else had been blown up in Scream before. He was kind of a womanizer and thought he was hot shit, which is why he's not any higher. it not so much that I didn't like his cocky attitude it's that it really didn't suit him because he was kind of a dweeb. I will say however that thanks to this dear boy, I now carry a mini flashlight on my keys so no motherfucker can blow my ass up! --- And then there were 24!! and i'm off to watch Scream. Next 2... I loved seeing the Fonz in this movie and everytime I watch it still brings a smile to my face. He had some fun scenes, the Wes Craven cameo before his death was fun, and he scared himself in the mirror with the killer mask. I felt like I couldn't put him any higher than this because as I said, he is only this high because Henry Winkler also played the Fonz...also because his death was not anything out of the ordinary and we never did see him hanging from the goal post. Since i'm trying to rank the characters and not the actors behind them..Fonzie..er...Principal Himbry is as high as I can let him go. 23. Angelina Tyler (Scream 3) Status: Stabbed twice in the chest Quote: "I did not FUCK that pig Milton just to die here with second rate celebrities like you two!" (said to Gale and Jennifer after realizing the killer was loose in the mansion) This woman freaks me out. She "won" a contest allowing her to play the role of Sidney Prescott in Stab. It turns out that winning actually amounts to having sex with the old pig who placed 30th in these rankings. Through Scream 3, Angelina comes off as incredibly sketchy and very suspicious. I have heard that the original end to Scream 3 was to have her be Roman (the killers) girlfriend (which explains why she is so strange) but they scrapped it since it wasn't necessary. If that is true then it is unforunate what it did to Angelina's character. Much like Kincaid they made her more suspicious than she needed to be. I have her this high because although odd, I was sort of interested by her (unlike Kincaid) and had she been handled a little differently, she could have been a Scream great. The final nail in her coffin for me was that her death was very quick in the middle of so much other shit going on that it was forgettable. ETA: Also, wtf was with the mysterious haircut after the first scene? was it a wig? who knows? this bitch is crazy. -- And down to 22 we are... Next 2..
