Who cares. It's an offensive roast. That's what it's supposed to do. Offend.
The problem is that it wasn't that funny of a roast. Giraldo was good. Ross was adequate. Whitney was the break out star. Gilbert is always king. The rest was poor to middling. Not anywhere near the Sagat/FlavorFlav roasts. It was an epic letdown. Joan's bogus Melissa rules ruined it. |

Wait, did Joan really have rules that no one could mention Melissa? I think it's the height of hypocrisy when someone who makes a living talking about

Joan was on Stern a couple weeks ago, talking about this and saying that Melissa was off-limits. Robin confirmed that she was told they had people go through
everyone's material - except Ross and Giraldo, I think - and had them remove Melissa jokes. Joan's reasoning at the time was that she didn't want
her raked on since she wouldn't be able to defend herself. Really pretty lame, and totally unexpected from Joan.

Whitney had a much better joke about Mario that was on the previews.. something about "if he sucked so hard all the time, he's pull the guy through
the gloryhole." Unfortunately, it was not in the show.. the t cell joke just wasn't that funny.
Upon rewatching, Robin's constant laughing at her own jokes and looking at Joan every time she said something started to annoy me. I think if Melissa had been on the dias, then she wouldn't have been off limits. |

Calm the fuck down nasty bitch. :)Unless im retarded...which is a definite possibility...Seaguy isn't saying "BAN ANYONE SAYING THESE JOKES"...just that he doesn't find them funny. Definitely the most mellow Roast...almost like they JUST put it together. I feel the addition of Rickels BEING THERE, Lily Tomlin, (at least) 2-3 minute longer sets, and more Joan Fanfare (pictures hanging, more people around the dais like in other roasts) and it would have felt better...and a more comfortable position, chair, and outfit for joan...she looked like she was taking a shit in Buckingham palace next to the queen. |

Yeah, all that stuff about Joan, Melissa and even the selection of Kathy as roastmistress (when you know Lisa Lampanelli would've pulled no punches) really
kind of lowers my opinion of the whole thing now. It's almost like a comedian paying his friends to be hecklers. Boo.
