Either way it's all going to be about the quality of the songwriting on the albums. Even someone with no talent (Ashley Simpson anyone) can have a hit album if the songwriting is good and someone that's terrific (Tamyra) can have a horrid album if the songs suck.

Posts: 1341 (08/13/09 4:35 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	i expect adam to have huge first week sales, no matter how crappy the first single, and probably will hit platinum. cook's (shitty) album didn't turn out one legitimate hit and his still hit 1m. never understimate the batshitcraziness of the crazies. kris will do ok first week sales, but i think the quality of his first single will have more of an influence on his sales.

Yes, even Adam. I don't know I saw Adam on Extra just the other night where they were talking about his RS being the best selling issue so far this year. Kradison just had an Elle photoshoot, Adam shot his album cover today, he was featured on the news for throwing a twitter party last night for his fans... Kris and Adam were just on GMA too.... Adma's Mad World is being used for promo on a new series called Flash Forward.... etc perhaps I know all this cuz I follow them so closely but they are on tour and reviews are being written and interviews are being done at almost every stop which are being broadcast. so oblivion might be an overstatement. Faded from the oversaturation of Idol I can agree with but Adam and Kris are still being talked about.

The novelty has worn off. From here on out, it's going to be harder and harder for these kids to make a splash and staying there. But the fraus have lots of buying power, like someone mentioned the Cooktards. I knew his album would do well because fraus go shopping at Wal Mart for hubby's clothes and then see his c.d. (which sold the best at Wal-Mart, coikidink? no.) and buy it. His market was 30 plus wommens and some fags. That's why he's getting close to 1.3 mil in sales. People marketed to tweens, teens and 20s are struggling more (Kelly, Jorbacca) even with hit singles. I think Adam will do as well as Cook has for the frau factor alone. Plus, he has also a small gae fanbase. Kris is kinda iffy. Allison will do well for pop numbers. She might sell 750,000 albums but for her genre, it would be decent.

I do agree that for the general public they aren't as out there as they were a few months ago. But Adam in particular is being kept in the public stream of conscience IMO to what degree that is I have no idea. A simple google search will show that he's mentioned randomly throughout various articles on a daily basis for no other reason than to generate web hits it would seem..... I think that happened Season 5 when the 4th place finisher became more successful than the winner.

Its also because the show is losing viewers and popularity. Everybody knows who Kelly Clarkson is even those who didn't watch the show. Same goes for Clay and Ruben. People who didn't watch the show back then at least knew who they were. I'm betting if you brought up Kris or Adam's name in front of someone who doesn't watch the show they wouldn't know who you were talking about. One of my friends who doesn't watch the show knows Adam only as the tranny drag queen.
