I'm sure the audience will be able to tell the difference bertween light and dark blue, but I still don't the producers would choose those colours.
Since from the four colours of the shirt there are two pairs of colours that are similar to each other, yet different from the other pair, that each tribe will
hve two of those colours each. I think we're over having 3+ tribes, aren't we?

If you know anything about art, color or television production, you'd know having a similar color would be a bad idea.
The problem with having dark blue and light blue at the same time is they are hard to differentiate in certain situation. Sure it will be easy to differentiate if you put it on your face, but that's not the case with Survivor. 1. In master shot (not close up), the buffs would look small so you usually only see a hint of the buff color. It would be easier to have different shade, so people would automatically know "Oh that's red, so that must be tribe A" or "Oh that's blue, so that must be tribe B" rather than: "Oh that's blue, wait a minute. Is that light blue or dark blue? Which one is that?" 2. Dark blue and Light blue if exposed to water will have a similar blue hue (dark blue hue). Imagine in a water challenge, both of the tribes swimming with the same blue buffs. Can you imagine how confusing that will? I mean my friend don't like to see Survivor and I forced him to watch Survivor China, all he remembered was red tribe and yellow tribe. Now if I tell that friend of mine to watch 2 tribes with blue buffs, he will say, "Yeah that tribe with the blue buffs. I don't know light blue or dark blue. Don't remember. Whichever." 3. Dark Blue buff will be washed out after several days. I mean look at Jalapao's buffs. It turned into lighter red in 6 days. |

Hagiz... you would think that everything you just said would be common sense, but you are a saint for actually having the patients to type it out for the
re-re's amongst us. XD
Bravo good sir <3 |

Can you tell which is the dark tribe and which is the light tribe if these were in Samoa? Didn't think so. This is too confusing for American audiences.

There are an infinite amount of colors.
Are you really claiming they should do two shades of the same color in one season? |

Let's put it this way, I wouldn't have been so open to it in the first 15 or so seasons, but I think by now they're allowed to experiment with
tradition. But that may just be the progressive in me.

*facepalm* in survivor terms, progression is NOT gonna mess with tribe colors, it has to deal with twists, etc. etc. and one or more tribes is not going to be
stranded at sea, no way to get good footage for a whole 3+ days. the the luxury thing was all ready tried- see Survivor Fiji. and look how that turned out

It is possible. Just like it is possible they will cast 18 sixty year olds. It just most likely will not happen. You put a lot of egg's in baskets of
things that are dumb, make no sense, or have no point and feel like you have to post them all.

"ZOMG they will never have two blue tribes!!!!"
"ZOMG they can never set it in Iceland because if they do it will HAVE to be in Winter because there's not enough snow to make the show look cold in Summer, but in Winter it'll be too freezing!" Yeah, like I make dumb comments. |

Yes you do.
I am never, ever someone who bashes on a 'newbie' but I just hate that you really think all your ideas are possible and that a lot of them deserve new threads. Next time you want to post please think "is this more likely to happen than not" then post. |

Well let's hear from you then why having 2 shades of blue is not dumb from you.
I've given my reasons above. Let's hear yours. And to be frank your so called "sarcasm" really don't help your case. As I said, if the buffs is in your face,(big & not wet) like in your pictures, sure we sucksters won't have problems differentiate them since we like to dissect the tribes once the cast announcement is out. I'm sure some of us even remember all 16/18/20 people's names when the premiere starts and in which tribe they are. Can you say the same thing for people who suddenly stay tune on eps 2, never watched Survivor before, And you gave them 2 tribes with blue buffs? Only difference is that one is dark blue and one is light blue. Can you say that those people won't get confused at first if there's no tribe names shown and all they have to go with is the tribe color? And as I said, Dark blue buff and light blue buff will both be dark blue buffs if they are exposed to water. What happened then in the challenge? How would you differentiate which one is which tribe. Sure for us who remember the names and the faces would automatically say oh this one is this tribe, but what about regular viewer? Let's say if they use 2 blue buffs, in the middle of a swimming challenge, call your mom (or anyone who has never watched Survivor before) and tell her to differentiate which tribe is which, see if she can do that. I'd like to hear your argument for that one. You know how I know this things? Coz I work in television production. This is production 101, you want your viewers to right away connect with the characters. Like in Panama, Survivor did the age and gender thing. They keep calling the tribes not by their names but by "younger women", "younger men", etc. That's because so we would easily remember how to differentiate the four tribes instead of having to remember 4 weird names. That's production 101. Sure having 2 blue buffs would be awesome for us sucksters coz it never happened before, but it alienates new viewers. They can't differentiate the tribes that easily. Our brain is designed to recognize colors in different stages. Stage 1, your brain tries to process what color is that. blue, red, green, etc. Then after that your brain will try to recognize how blue is that or how red is that. So it will be easier for people to recognize different color like red and blue then dark blue and light blue. About the cold Survivor thing, I never said it's dumb. I only said it will be difficult. Read again. |

hagiz <333 what do you do in tv production? and ZOMG if you read our arguments then you would understand why there wont be Survivor: Iceland!!!11!!!!

I'm an assistant cameraman but never in a famous production yet.
Bowie I swear, you reminded me of my friend who suffered from ADD, who can't stay still and his brain is always thinking. He always suggested weird, absurd things. "Let's stay underwater for 10 minutes without any oxygen.", "Let's try to eat 20 bowls of noodles in 2 hours." And when we called him on it, he'll pout and be angry. |

Like I posted somewhere else I would not mind cold weather if it had a catch.
Alaska 24 sunlight....this is the darkest it gets.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FynWkNH4lY0 SURVIVOR: KOTZEBUE I feel this would be more interesting then just cold Iceland or cold Canada or something...I think it would be incrediabbly interesting to have an element of not having a clue of what time it is out there. It doesn't get to cold or too hot if they filmed in July/August...I would say its probably like March in Northern California....maybe a little colder....not unbearable like they would be shivvering in a cave the whole time. ![]() ![]()
I just feel like if we get any sort of a confirmation that we might go to Survivor (say) 26 (or even 24 or 22) they MIGHT AS WELL experiment and go somewhere cold to say they did it and shut the (somewhat large) minority of people that want it up. A huge case against Survivor in colder locals is the whole "well then no bikinis/swim trunks/Tits/Abs...well (and maybe im just doing this cuz im bored) but chime in if anyone thinks different: S1: We had Colleen who was decent but in no way a 'hot chick' S2: Colby was about the only eye candy S3: Jessie/Silas..both out early and the season survived S4: Sarah/Gabe out early S5: Ken/Robb/Erin out by halfway S6: Exception...Jenna/Heidi/Alex make it far...likable season for most S7: Darrah/Burton made it far S8: no one IMHO S9: Julie/Eliza/John S10: a good amount of eye candy S11: Danni/Steph/Bobby/Blake S12: Danielle/Aras/Nick S13: good amount S14: No one really imo S15: James/Amanda/Ashley S16: Good amount S17: Michelle out early...same with Paloma. Matty lasted S18: Carolina/Brandon/Sierra/Erin...good amount of eye candy. Most seasons had just about (on average) about 3/4 'good looking' eye candy type people out of 16 players and most were voted out early and seasons still survived. What I say to counteract this (if it is a big worry) then just simply cast 8-10 good looking people and make them wear sexy clothes. Honestly. They do pick all of their clothes/outfits and film in a July/August and you will be no worse off then a lot of other seasons. |

Yeah as I said. Cold season isn't impossible but it will be difficult. Though I can't see it anytime soon. As long as there's a good amount of
countries with islands, they'll go there.
Alaska would be awesome. lol. TC in bright light. It would be the first. In my imagination the only thing that Survivor hasn't done is putting people in an igloo, and all they do all day is ice fishing. As much as I'd like to see that, I doubt it would ever happen. |

You guys seriously have some double standards here. We're having arguments about the likelihood or practicality of certain things, which I think we can all
admit are fairly pointless, but I'm never the first one to make it personal like "gee you say some dumb shit" or whatever. If you disagree, fine,
and I appreciate your reasons why, but there's no reason to criticise the fact that I take the opposing argument. Secondly, it's not my intention to
make it seem like I think my ideas are top shit or whatever. The two threads that I started were QUESTIONS asking for your opinions, it's not like i'm
MattyP starting one of his many "Survivor 20 will be Heroes vs Villains" threads. I'm just here to discuss and speculate on Survivor like you
guys, so no need to rally up each other. Thirdly, I don't mind if you do, because I don't take it personally -- and I will continue to be who I am and
discuss things that I truly believe possible or probable or good or bad or whatever. Fourthly, I've made it pretty clear that the two shades of blue
wouldn't be for 8 episodes or something -- just one or two max, kind of like Exile Islands' four tribes were subsumed into two in EPISODE 2. It's
like the fake snow thing. It's just a question of whether you think it's a big deal, and my overall argument is that in Survivor's 19th season,
little issues like this are NOT a big deal, and imho are more possible than you think. Fair enough. You disagree with me. But there's no point calling what
I say dumb shit when it's speculation anyway, and when you know I'm going to continue regardless.
