Survivor is a popular reality television game show produced in many countries throughout the world. In the show, contestants are isolated in a remote location and compete for cash and other prizes. Survivor, created in the UK in 1992 by Charlie Parsons, was first made as a Swedish show Expedition: Robinson. It is commonly considered the mother of American reality TV because it was the first highly-rated and profitable reality show on broadcast television in the USA. The show even has its own "reality coaster" at Paramount's Great America in Santa Clara, CA, called Survivor: The Ride!.
