every teenage boy I knew cut at least one pair off at the knee during the summer and if their moms were anal-retentive, they hemmed them

Yes, jorts, appropriate for teenage boys growing up in the 50s.

Shouldn't teachers have dress codes? Slacks for male teachers.

Not wanting to say "drinking" or "watching television" I randomly blurted out "Uhh...making fun of people." My professor was pleased with it. |

I've never heard them call "jorts".
I love denim shorts. |

I've never heard them called jorts and unless they were cutoff Daisy Duke shorty shorts, I don't see where there's a problem or why this is an
issue.
And when you're in college don't you usually refer to your teachers as "professors?" |

generally you refer to your "professors" as "professors"

Well I guess I went to a real college and all of my classes were either taught by professors or TAs. And we called them professors or TAs.

Cut offs are ruined for me. I recently found a pic of my father back in the '90s wearing a pair of cutoffs and have never been able to look at him the same
since. The worst part is knowing that they were actually in style back then

yeah if you're in this thread defending jean shorts you need to reconsider yr wardrobe
the dude is a ta but as it's not a lecture class where he's helping a professor it seems like calling him a teacher would be fine |

I fail to see what's the big deal about wearing cutoffs. I even can recall them being the most popular kind of shorts to have!
