I'm sure they both have several siblings and neices and nephews. Afterall, they are Mormon and are extremely devote. She also talks about church members and friends with children coming over in her blogs. Surely, between her family and church they can gather enough gently used cribs, clothes, toys, etc that she doesn't have to ask that of the public. Heck, they can all get together and buy her a bunch of new stuff. Why are still asking this of strangers? Especailly, since they are down to 2.

I feel sad.7:03 PM Sep 29th from web A tweet from Morrison awhile back. I read this and it made me feel sad for her. As much as I disagree with her choice, at least she had the excuse of being so very young and sheltered. She didn't have any medical issues like Amanda and it was the first time they tried IUI. She is obviously paying a very high price for her decision. I hope Amanda takes note.

I'm positive there will hurdles to overcome, I just hope they can overcome them. My feeling is that one will be relatively okay, with just delays that can be dealt with through therapy, etc, and the other will be more negatively effected. I can't say which is which though, you just never know with preemies. My oldest was only one full-term baby and he still had some slight delays. No matter what people think about the parents, I just can't understand being so negative about how the girls are progressing, they are innocent babies and never asked for any of this. As far as freebies go, there's virtually nothing for twins, which is what the Stansels have now. I had twins and there were a few freebies available, like one pack of free diapers. I never felt they were even worth my time to pursue.

Like I have said before, the girls are progressing. However, it's sad that this is progress. This would be a nightmare for most parents. Amanda and her reporting is what is maddening.

These babies did not ask to be born with these horrible problems...it was Amanda and Thomas' choice. Instead of having their eye on possibly two or three healthy babies, they took the risk and kept their eye on possible fame. You reap what you sow.

Posts: 428 (11/08/09 2:10 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Before becoming a mother, I thought my hardest decision would be whether or not to feed my baby homemade or store bought baby food. While we parents make very important decisions every day, I never expected the consequences of the decisions Ryan and I have made and continue to make to have such weighty outcomes. When I'm alone with Sy, it's easy to be grateful and amazed at how far he's come, but when placed next to other children who are his age or even younger than him, the fact that he is behind is glaringly obvious. It makes me feel sad and worried and guilty. I know that it's just the start and that as he interacts with more and more kids, I'll continue to deal with these emotions. He'll always be a little bit behind, at least physically, unless the Lord heals him of his cerebral palsy and I need to be ok with that. I want to be a mom that NEVER makes him feel as though he's behind and that if he sets his mind to it, he can accomplish anything. Awhile back, when Sylas was hugging both Ryan and I at the same time, Ryan said that if this is all Sylas can ever do, if this is all he ever accomplishes, then I'm the happiest dad in the world. It's true really. I need to remember that what he may be "lacking" when it comes to physical acheivements, he more than makes up for it with his joyful, loving spirit. I'm so proud to be called Sylas' mommy. More sad quotes from Brianna. I think it paints a realistic picture of what lies ahead for the Stansels. I think if Amanda were ever to honest and realistic like this then she wouldn't inspire the reactions she does.

They place their faith in some entity akin to Santa Claus. They're idiots for putting their faith in anything that doesn't exist in the first place. Do you really expect them to be able to act intelligently in other aspects of their lives? I really don't know whether these two whackjobs wanted to be famewhores or that they just didn't want to kill babies based on their faith, but either way, they made a very ignorant decision and their babies suffered for it. And two of them are still suffering to this day. If there was a hell, these two people would have a special place set aside for them to burn in agony for all of eternity. Hey, that would make a great reality show... "Stansels Burning in Hell". They could be skewered from ass to mouth, roasting over an open fire and forced to watch slideshows of their dead babies while listening to Barbra.

I'm a devout Christian myself, and while I've made decisions and posted opinions recently that have had a lot of people scratching their heads, I never claimed to be doing it out of some blind religious fervour. There are good, strong, moral intelligent Christian people out there whom the rest of the world admires and looks up to. Then there are the nutjobs like the Stansels who give the rest of us the bad name. If I judged all African Americans by what I saw on MTV or even in the "people of WalMart" thread here, I'd have a pretty perverse view of fully half of America's population. It's akin to racial profiling, and it's ugly.

She's like a mom who is still pregnant really, she's never had to parent her children yet. I'm sure we'll hear different words from her once she's more of a seasoned mom. Brianna is pretty lucky really, Sylas's cerebral palsy appears to be relatively mild. I hope he continues to improve. I have a friend with ID twins and one has mild CP, but I think she does very well in a regular classroom, etc. She's 12 now. And, no, there was no fertility treatment involved.

He has severe vision problems, is much smaller than he should be, and has a very weak immune system. He gets so sick he has to be hospitalized. There was no mention of Halloween in her blog and I have to wonder if that is because of religious reasons or if it's because Sylas will catch a cold in the winter if they go out and the baby is too little still. That being said, he could be alot worse. She is very lucky. Brianna blogs about how much she misses the other babies regularly and perfusely. She blogs about how she struggles with certain apects of her faith,etc. She just doesn't seem as delusional as Amanda. All we ever hear from Amanda is "happy, miracle, and "all is well." I get the feeling that even when she experiences all that Brianna has, she will refuse to be realistic and still be all about progress and "all is well." At least in her blogs.

She is talking about them coming home on their due date, they are both on 02, their feeds are constantly being changed, they still are on cpaps - they have a very, very long way to go before anyone ever mentions going home.

It's so special to be able to have their little bodies against mine. I can't explain the emotions and the feelings that I get from holding my precious daughters skin to skin. Mommy holding Haley skin to skin The girls have had a great weekend. Both girls have been able to be weaned down on the cpap pressures from six to five and both have tolerated it well. Both Rachel and Haley have also been able to come down a little bit on their O2 requirements. Rachel got her immunizations today. Haley will get hers when her infection has cleared. Haley will have to be on Amphotericin for a full 28 days. She has already had it for 7 days now. Haley did have to be changed over to continuous feeds as she is now having too much poo coming out of her ostomy. She continues to get breast milk, but if her output doesn't decrease she will be switched to a special formula. I hope the output will decrease and she will still be able to get my breast milk. We continue to thank an all knowing and all loving Heavenly Father, it is only through him that our little girls and Thomas and I have been able to get through this experience in life. Rachel Just Being Herself I want to know who told them the girls will be home by their due date. Have the doctors told them this is certain or are they just guessing?
