Posts: 2864 (09/14/09 11:23 AM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	So I scrolled through all 50 pages of this forum and could not find a thread about this show (although I could have sworn there used to be one). But anyways, did anybody else see the series finale? You guys know it aired last night, right? Hopefully I wasn't the only one who watched it! Personally I thought it felt just like another regular episode with a quickie "ending" thrown into the last 5 minutes to cap the series. They didn't really wrap-up any characters in such a way that they couldn't revisit the show if somebody wanted to at some point. Hank & Bobby finally bond with each other so I guess that's a happy ending for the two of them. The only new thing we learned about anybody is what Boomhauer does for a living. I was happy to see they brought back Chuck Mangione for a cameo in the finale, but why no John Redcorn? At least he was mentioned, but couldn't they have at least stuck him in the background somewhere. Apparently there are several more episodes that were produced that Fox never aired, but they will be sold off into syndication with the rest of the series. Hopefully those shows will air on Adult Swim soon, and Cartoon Network will actually promote them.

Speaking of which.... I just downloaded the complete King Turd Beavis & Butthead - 200 episodes, extras, commercials, original B&B music video commentaries and interviews with Judge. Completely put together by fans. Even Judge doesn't have all the episodes, and the music videos can't be used in commercial B&B sets. Gawd luv the interwebs.

I only found out last night reading on another board that it was the finale. But apparently one of the unaired episodes was about Dale finding out about Nancy and John Redcorn and from that, I'd assume he would discover John was Joseph's father as well.

I had just kind of assumed that the whole Dale-Nancy-John Redcorn-Joseph thing would NEVER be revealed. If that's true, than a double fuck-you to Fox for not airing it!!! I only found out that they were airing the finale when a friend told me about it on Saturday. I didn't see a single bit of promotion for it, which sadly isn't surprising. I'm kinda surprised Fox aired the finale at all and didn't just sell it off into syndication with the rest of the unaired episodes.

I found out about the finale when I was browsing EW.com since they had a featured article on their 15 favorite KOTH moments. I was assuming that last May episodes were the finale. My understanding is that the 4 unaired episodes will be aired in syndication but Adult Swim (Cartoon Network) is trying to buy the rights to air them first. Guess we'll have to keep an eye on their website.

Like when Cotton died yet there was no mention of "Good Hank" or the wife. Wouldn't they have been at the hospital? I also wanted some sort of resolution to the John Redcorn/Dale Gribble/Joseph situation. If they made an episode about it but didn't air it is there a chance it could appear on the DVD?

Posts: 1346 (09/16/09 10:31 AM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	My post dropped, but I did a lengthy thing on how they dealt with the Dale/John/Nancy thing pretty thoroughly in something like three episodes -- the first was when Joseph came of age, and JR wanted him to be a man and go on a vision quest, but Dale wanted to take him to the zoo and shoot a panda (I'm paraphrasing) It was made pretty clear in that episode, and one following, that Dale knew that Joseph wasn't his son, but didn't care. And when Dale met the female exterminator, it was made clear that he knew that Nancy had been cheating on him (this might have come before, actually), but that he would never do that to her. I thought they did pretty well, considering how a throw-away joke (John Red climbing out of the window when Dale came home) became harder to deal with as the series progressed. And now that I think about it, why didn't Dale's friends ever tell him what they all knew was going on? Jerks.
