Beautiful Child

This song is from the Want One album. I'm not exactly sure why this song made the list. I think it is only because I needed to make this list an even 30 number of songs. It's not really one of my favorite Rufus tracks. But it is a faster paced song. And on a CD where most of the tracks are slower, it was a good change of pace. For people who aren't familiar with Rufus Wainwright, this song probably won't get you too excited. And it really isn't much of an indication of his other music, as most of his stuff is a lot better than this.

Grey Gardens

I consider Poses to be the weakest of his CDs that I have listened to. Normally this probably wouldn't have been a song that I would have gone nuts over. But on a CD where I was starved for good songs, this became one of my favorites on the disc. I couldn't find a clip of the studio version of the song from the CD, so this live performance will have to do. The CD version is slightly better and faster paced. Again, not great but decent.

I have no idea who that guy is. Clearly, he wants to suck Rufus' cock.

Another one of those songs that isn't amazing, but it is faster paced and is a good change up from the slower songs on his Want One CD. It has a good melody and is enjoyable to listen to. But unlike some of the stuff up to come on this list, it doesn't exactly blow you away.

Beauty Mark

This song is from Rufus' debut album, appropriately entitled "Rufus Wainwright". It fits in like a piece of a puzzle with all the other songs on this album. It is rather gay, and would probably not be a song I would want all my masculine friends to know I like. I feel like less of a man just listening to it, actually. LOL. I mean it is a good song, but if I were going to try and get someone into Rufus Wainwright, this wouldn't be the best track to start with.

Unfortunately, all versions of this song on Youtube are live, and not of the best quality.

This is another example of a faster paced Rufus song that is enjoyable to listen to, but doesn't exactly blow you away. I don't know what to say without repeating what I have already posted in the writeups for the last few songs. *shrugs* I do think that this song is easier to get into than most of Rufus' stuff if you aren't a diehard fan.

Waiting for a Dream

This is a very slow and beautiful song. Although I do like it A LOT, there are quite a few better slow, hypnotic Rufus Wainwright songs out there. I guess that speaks volumes about him as an artist. That he is able to pump out so many songs of this quality or better. It's not my favorite song from his Want Two CD, but it's still a good one, and one I never skip over. It only gets better from here.

Crumb By Crumb

This is the part of the list where the songs start to get really good. I don't know why I didn't just do a top 25 instead of a top 30. A-dur! Anyway, this song may not be the most exciting one out there, but it is very chill and mellow and I love the way it sounds. When I listen to this song, I can actually envision being in a big black forest and listening to this song. Wierd huh? I like it.

His Hallelujah is overrated, I can think of like 10 better versions off the top of my head.

The Art Teacher

I think I read somewhere that this is a cover song. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but it would make sense because it sounds like it was written by a girl. But then again, Rufus is a flaming homosexual, so who knows? It's basically about someone who has a major crush on their art teacher, hence the title. It's a good song, but not too spectacular. It's one I like to sing along too, even if it does make me feel like a gigantic faggot.

Old Whore's Diet

I'm not sure if this song is supposed to be a joke, or what? For the longest time I thought Rufus was singing "An old horse dyin, gets me going in the morning." And it confused the hell out of me. Not that old whore's diet makes much more sense. Anyway, this song is extremely long, and is one of the only songs of his where somebody else gets an extended vocal solo. I don't know who the other guy is who sings in this song, but I can tell just by his voice that he's extremely gay. I always have to laugh when he starts singing because he's just so feminine. This must not be a popular song because I couldn't find any full videos on Youtube. This small clip will have to do.
