About damn time. The only season I have any real interest in re-watching (as I missed most of it).
Plus, if I had to see that the S4 finale was on repeat on some obscure channel one more time, I may have had to give up on the idea of syndication completley. |

Best season ever. Every person in the top 10 deserved to be there. The only blemish on the season's greatness was Kevin Covais getting past Gideon McKinney
& Wil Makar and into the finals (and even that is SLIGHTLY justified, since both of them made poor song choices on semis week 3 night, while Kevin was no
worse than usual).
One interesting note about the season's hottest couple: Katherine came in 2nd and Kellie 6th. However, when sales were tallied Kellie's CD sold 2nd best and Kat's was 6th. |

I miss Melinda. We all knew she wouldn't be some huge pop superstar, but she was truly great....Every single performance, she was a pro...Also, what
happened to Blake? He had "Breakanotha" and then fell away...

Melinda/Blake = Season 6. I wantched the first episode. Mandisa looks incredible. She's like 1/2 the size (if you remember what she looked like).

If only Daughtry and Elliott had finished 1/2 it would have been a perfect season. Although I guess their eliminations made for great TV. But Taylor winning
really screwed the show up.For the first time, they couldn't get a winner to platinum. Since then they make sure the winner has some radio friendly genre.
So you get winners like Jordin and Cook who do okay but don't become big stars. Also winning doesn't mean as much when contestants eliminated 4th and
6th outsell the winner.
Taylor really screwed this show up. |

On overall talent, Ayla Brown was robbed; Melissa McGhee should have been booted. But for the last semifinal week, Melissa was better than Ayla.
Chris Daughtry was great on the show, but for me, as a recording artist, he's been a disappointment. It wasn't Taylor Hicks who screwed up the show, it was the people who dialed their telephones, including the Soul Patrol. |

You're right. I blame the people that voted for Hicks. But it's still bad when the winner flops. It looks like S8 is going to have a similiar problem.
Kris is a nice guy and not a joke like Hicks but he could be their biggest flop winner ever..

Ayla sucked ass. She was bland, uninspiring and annoying.
Melissa was way, way better than her. She owned the hell out of the semi-finals and deserved her spot in the finals easily. Had she made a better song choice and not flubbed the words at Top 12 she could have been great. I still think she should have stayed over the likes of some others that season. |

Simon made me furious with his comments. He was clearly trying to make sure she got booted so Ayla would make the top 12 instead. When he failed he makes sure she goes home the next week with his comments. When Melissa screwed up her lyrics he tells her it was her best performance just so people would get complacent and she got booted.

Ya Melissa killed it the last two weeks of the semis, I actually really randomly loved her "Why haven't I heard from you?"
Too bad Carly wasn't on season 5. She may have faired better and she would have replaced Katharine probably. I think by the time she came back season 7 they were already over her. She is way better of a singer than shitty ass overrated Katharine. |

I liked Carly and Katharine on their respective seasons but Carly got treated like shit on S7 and she would have owned the fuck out of Katharine on most
nights.
