Just imagine... you are some miserable fag sitting around playing a message board ALL DAY, EVERY DAY. You are consumed by thoughts of the other people who post there. You have absolutely nothing in your life to entertain you outside of this message board. You hole up in your squalid home, furiously pecking away at your keyboard, jotting down every scrap of information posted by strangers. You think to yourself that it would be somehow considered "clever" to "call out" these individuals, that it will rile them up. So you start a thread. Then... then you sit back and wait, rubbing your hands together, a thin strand of glistening drool hanging from the bottom of your lower lip. Oh, yes. You wait for the chaos to ensue.

Categorizing strangers and selecting just one stranger are absolutely equal in degree of pathetic sadness.

Both are meant to draw attention to YOU, not the person(s) in question.

When you have absolutely nothing else to offer, when no one gives a flying fuck about you, this is simply what you must do to get noticed.
