Remember, fire is life. Thing is, this intro is all about water; the only other one I can remember in that vein is Palau, and there nobody in the final 5 had water in their intro shots. The people who do have water are:
- Jaison, bursting out of the water looking fierce.
- Liz, rowing.
- Ben, escaping from the clutches of Russell S.
- Ashley, chasing someone in the Episode 3 challenge.
- Mike, rowing.
- Mick, but only in the background of the second shot.
- John, dripping with water in both shots.
- Dave, running through the water.
- Laura, has some water spilling off the boxes she's carrying.
This leaves:
- Russell H.
- Betsy
- Natalie
- Kelly
- Russell S.
- Monica
- Brett
- Shambo
- Erik
I think our winner comes from this group.
There's plenty of water in scenic shots too:
- The Alofa'aga blowholes (where Jeff did his opening shot) are shown three times - at the start, just before Ashley and at the end before Jeff.
- There's an absolute torrent of water gushing through just before Shambo.
Also note that:
- After Jaison and Liz, there's a shot of a cliff and a turtle. Is Jaison supposed to represent the cliff, strong and sturdy, and Liz the turtle, deftly swimming through the tides?
- In Foa Foa's sequence, there's a shot of what is clearly the Galu canoe, as John's pink and brown shirt can be seen. Does this mean that Galu wipes out Foa Foa?
- There's a single waterfall appearing before Mick. I am instantly reminded of Tocantins where a shot of two mountains (symbolizing the F2) was placed in Jalapao's sequence just before JT.
- In Guatemala we got a nice shot of Cindy's ass. This time we get the front of Natalie's bikini bottoms.
- Before Monica there's a shot of a tree, and the clouds around are unnaturally light green. Does Monica get sick out there? She also looks kinda worn out in her individual shots.
- Clouds before Dave start out light and then turn Galu purple. A sign that Galu dominates the game?
- Erik is in the last spot; nobody shown last has won. Ever.
And finally:
- I love that they brought back the whole '20 contestants, 39 days, 1 Survivor'. Gives it an old-school feel.
- The Russell H. lookalike at the end is hideous.
So based on the information, I'm speculating that someone from Galu wins, and Foa Foa is in the minority at the merge with Liz the last one standing.
Winner: Brett.
