Biggest Loser UK 1

I watched this show last Thanksgiving when Fox Reality ran a marathon of it (One of the few good things Fox Reality has ever done...i'm gonna go on a bit of a rant here...but....what a pile of garbage that channel is. I got so excited when I heard of a reality tv based channel, but really, can they fit anymore World's Wildest Animals, or Scariest Police Chases or Embarassing Job Moments onto it? It's sickening, they barely show any actual reality shows at all. And when they do it's like the same ones over and over again. Ugh, it makes me so mad)

Anyways, this season wasn't all that great and I don't even remember much about it. One thing the UK has a tendancy to do is treat their shows, especially older ones, more like a documentry than a reality based competition. They did it with Survivor, they still do it with Top Model and they did it with this. And it made it hard to watch.

There was really very little to care about in the season overall, however there were two positives.

1. I remember the final being a complete upset. The favorite who was the clear winner from the beginning lost out by only a few kilos to a devoted father and family man, which was very nice.

2.Secondly and most importantly....this guy



Dr. Shane Lee....and yes, I did say doctor. Who said deadheads couldn't be successful? He was a college professor and epic hippie who gave big grandiose speeches. He was amazing...however he was a mid-season boot which is why I don't remember much about the season. Cause after he left I kinda zoned out.

He also didn't even show up for the finale and instead sent in a video of him riding his motorcycle <3

The Contender 2

I feel like perhaps i'm being a bit too harsh on this season. It's funny how on most lists at some point near halfway or further you take that turn where you begin to like the stuff....for me it's 3 entrys into this list. These seasons are like my children, and picking favorites and least favorites is very hard for me. Cause I can see positive qualities in just about all of them (Aside from that black sheep Top Design)

I guess my main quabble with this season was the fact it was moved to ESPN. It was a much lower budget, all the glitz and glamour was gone and it was quite disheartening. It wouldn't have been so bad, except we knew what the show could be after season 1...so seeing it downgraded so much was awful. Also they started to focus less on the families, by season 3 the family aspect was completely gone, but even in this season it started to dwindle. And sorry, im not gonna watch a straight up boxing show...it's one of the main reasons I don't watch that ufc reality show.


However there were quite a few great things about the season



The winner, Grady Brewer. He wasn't my first choice, but I grew to love him, especially in the finale. Grady, unlike a large majority of the cast was not a full time fighter. He was a factory worker, as he couldn't afford to just box as he had a family to support (his wife was white too <3333). He was a huge underdog from the start and was given absolutely no chance against the favorite from the beginning Steve Forbes. However in a shocking match he beat him in the grand finale to take home the prize <3








Norberto Bravo, was fairly awesome. He was extremely quiet and wasn't shown all that much. However when they focused on him and his family, it was always interesting. They were all fully behind him and the Bravo name. The reason I focus on him is that after he lost in the final 4 match, he gave an epic speech about what it means to be a Bravo and what pride that comes with. I wish it was on the Youtubes, but it was one of the most epic moments ever. He also made the news recently for killing his wife I believe






Ebo was my favorite and provided by far the most memorable moment of the season. Ebo called himself the Warrior of God, because he was a staunch Christian and loved his Lord Jesus Christ <33333. He was also a devoted family man with a young daughter. In his first match he fought Michael Stewart, another devoted family man who loved his wife and kids. And go figure, whilst production was going on, both of their wives became best friends. So when they were randomly paired against each other, everything was thrown for a loop.

Ebo lead for most of the fight....till this happened







Ebo got knocked out. The epic part isn't shown in the video, but it was completely heart wrenching. He was taken away in a ambulance, and his little daughter was crying her head off yelling for them to not take her daddy. And Michael gave a confessional about how bad he felt about hurting such a wonderful man who his entire family had come to grow and love. How he couldn't enjoy his victory at all knowing he may have seriously hurt someone who has a family to look out for.

It was one of the best Contender episodes of all time...it was just right in the middle of an overall blah season.

I've seen Kid Nation, but it wasn't technically a competition show. If one kid won I would have loved it, but it was more a group effort

Grease: You're The One That I Want

Such a disaster this show as....people really don't care enough about Broadway shows to watch a reality show dedicated to it. Surprisingly, the British versions have done fairly well (and are a bunch more entertaining) but the American version was just completely dull and was nothing more than a D-rate American Idol. It focused very little on acting and basically all on singing....and these people really weren't all that great singers.

There were however 2 people I adored



Rock Chick Sandy! Yea...that was literally her title. Juliana Hansen was amazing, she was hot and a incredibly singer. But unfortunately for her she wasn't blond so she wasn't roight for the show . She was the only person who actually would have made me go to the theatre and see this awful show, but alas she only made it midway through the season, leaving me not to care.




Fast forward to 5:30 for my favo performance of hers <3333








Slacker Danny.....and your winner of the show. The fact that he won made me so so happy. Max Crumm was the ultimate underdog, he was never given a chance against these adonis' with better voices and more experience. But Max was just an emo theatre kid with with a dream. And his dorky attitude, and the fact that he never quite fit in made America fall in love with him. I honestly think if more people watched the show, he would have became a huge star, cause his story was amazingly compelling and his journey on the show would inspire anyone. Max was awesome, and made a awful show somewhat decent.
