It'll be interesting to see the soundscan numbers because HDD has underestimated Carrie in the past.

Those are some nice sales, I need to get it for myself soon too.
I feel bad for like Adam's debut week. He has hella competition and I'll be shocked if he's even in the top 5, he'll be lucky to be 10th with all the big names. |

eraserhead19 wrote:No they haven't actually. The predictions leading up to the final chart were off but the final chart (which is the same one I gave here) should be very accurate. Also, Billboard is announcing that the top 200 albums will now include non-current albums. So now it will be possible for albums such as Thriller, etc. to chart on the Billboard 200 again. So be prepared to see the idols falls hard in the coming weeks on the chart. |

Something I ran across tonight.
"A rep for Amazon.com tells EW that presales for that week are the highest of the year - and that Lambert has done better in pre-orders than any American Idol alum ever." |

swim4life227 wrote: on the hot 100 it debuted at #107 (on the digital chart it debuted I believe at #82) because it's a combo of sales and airplay and the song went for sale the same day it went for radio play and shockingly enough he didn't get a large amount of airplay out of the gate.... he's not britney afterall. I think really the only people "expecting" amazing sales are the haters who want something to crow about. When established artists like Carrie Underwood barely squeak out 300K at the beginning of Nov that doesn't leave much hope for brand new artists, regardless of the media hype and talent. |

I'm just saying, I remember talentless hacks like Archie debuting at like #20 on sales alone for a single, and that was still when sales sucked. Lol @
"barely" squeaking out 300k. That's pretty much the best anyone is gonna do in this economy.

Archie's song has a shitton of radio play out of the gate and pretty massive single sales.. it was also released in August whereas Adam's single was released less than 20 days before his album. His sales are pitiful by comparison but the situations are entirely different too |

8000 people actually bought Archbot's Christmas CD?
Fuck us Canadians must be a bunch of music stealing fuckers, 15 000 is the top selling CD, really? |

The Idol franchise in general is getting stale and people are tiring of it. It's no longer a novelty to see an Idol c.d.
Also, with so many failed attempts to launch a career from so many Idols who've released and tanked, people are more skeptical to even invest into an Idol artist. Top that with depression-esque jobless numbers, a dead U.S. economy and yeah, the Idols are not doing so hot. I think it's perfect timing to bring X Factor US to the stage. I cannot wait for it. It will be brilliant, I just hope FOX doesn't get it. |
