http://www.fox.com/wanda/They've been advertising this show non-stop on FOX during the baseball playoffs. I'm not giving it much of a chance, not just because Sykes isn't really funny, but I'm not sure if a talk show works on Saturday night when people are used to variety shows like SNL or Madtv, or late night movies.
Emmy Award-winning actress, comedian and author Wanda Sykes returns to FOX to host the innovative and irreverent new Saturday late-night series, THE WANDA SYKES SHOW. This series premieres on Saturday November 7 at 11/10c.A new weekly late-night series, THE WANDA SYKES SHOW will feature Sykes' personal take on the events of the week punctuated by field pieces and produced comedy segments. Everything from news, politics, sports and pop culture will get examined from a point of view not currently offered on television. Each Saturday, Sykes will lead a discussion with regular panelists, famous friends and whole lot of folks you wouldn't expect to find on television. In a wry and lively conversation about the overwrought, overlooked and the latest complete non-controversies, THE WANDA SYKES SHOW is a talk show for the rest of us.

This is guaranteed to fail. Fox has yet to produce a successful late night talk show aside from Spike Ferewhatever and I think that is on just once a week. I
would have thought Wanda Sykes would have been smarter and more realistic. This can only end in disappointment for everyone.

She's a funny lady. I expect this to be much like Chelsea Lately but I'm assuming in an hour format and a different format for a round-table like
discussion for the current events.
I hope it does well, Wanda Sykes is fucking hilarious. <333 |

I saw her new special on HBO a couple of weekends ago... I laughed so hard several times that I couldn't catch my breath. By the time the show was over, I
had laughed myself into a migraine. I hope she does well with this talk show.

I never liked her, until I saw that new HBO special. She is up there with Kathy and Margaret Cho in my book now. I doubt this show will do much, but it
can't be worse than Saturday Night Live.
So... is MAD TV gone? How did I not know that? |
