Remove this ad I hate the cold - I do not participate in winter sports other than the occasional sled ride with the kids. Still, I don't complain about it. I like sleeping in a cold house ( Saving all those petrodollars ) and will run out to the car and whatnot without shoes or coat. I'm a stubborn fuck and refuse to let the cold 'beat me'. I was watching a series called 'Daredevils' and the second episode was about the 'Ice Man', a Danish dude who has set records for being encased in ice. He uses mind control to overcome involuntary responses. He takes daily swims in ice water. He is a nut. Being of a Scottish extraction, I wonder if there is a correlation between those Northern people who are bitter alcoholics like me and their amount of stubbornness. I think those tropical people are all "No worries man" or "Don't worry, be happy" or whatever. Fuck that and fuck your easy tropical lifestyle! I'm not counting Canadians in this theory because they are all nice and not alcoholic at all. I need to know who is cold and who is stubborn. For a friend. A friend's CSN...

Posts: 1958 (11/06/09 10:23 AM) Guttersnipe, and a lazy slob Reply Quote More Recent Posts	i live in vt and will wear heels most of the winter. i don't turn the heat up above 65ish and REFUSE to wear winter pajamas. i'll shiver myself warm before i'll put long pajama pants on. i refuse to turn the heat on before mid october (and even that is begrudgingly) and any day over 45 degrees gets the heat shut off and a window opened. fuck winter. it's NOT the boss o me.

I do like to save the $$ (plus breathe cold air when I sleep), so I keep the heat turned down below 65 until it's consistantly below freezing outside. Big comfy sweats, wooly slippers, lots of blankets.

It could be freezing, and I just deal with it cause I like the sound. I also HATE coats. I try to avoid wearing them as much as possible, and if its middle of January and I know I'm going somewhere warm I wont make the effort of throwing on a coat just to get into my car. I HATE driving with coats on too. And yes, I'm extremely stubborn, or so I'm told..lol.

I hate knowing the second I go outside that bone-chilling wind is going to go through however many layers I have on. I hate the days that I get home from work and the only thing that will warm me up is a 30 minute hot shower. That said - I can't sleep unless the room is cold. I want to be under a lot of blankets and not sweat.

The massive snowblower with the caravan of empty dump trucks waiting their turn always fascinates me.

I won't put on full cover shoes to run to the store unless it's around 36 or below outside. I like being cold and piling a few blankets on. My thermostat usually stays around 65 too. Unfortunately we don't get a lot of snow here. We do get ice/sleet which I hate cause of the power outages it can cause.
